Vehicle Detail

This one is quite nice. The bike runs, rides, and performs as it should, albeit a tad faster. All systems work. No leaks. No smoke. The paint is original and very decent on most surfaces--no touch ups. The tank has no dents and is clean inside. A few very slight mars and tiny blemishes are evident that are too small to show in the photos. I bought this bike awhile back knowing that it had been treated with extraordinary care by the previous owner, who owned and rode it for many years. She was very attentive to maintenance and specified service intervals, and it shows. I have listed below the notable upgrades/services that I am aware of-- the most notable being the 1,000cc upgrade. I should mention that this upgrade was done 18,000+- miles ago and the bike still runs very well. (Compression is 150psi in both cylinders). I am including the original tool kit, owners manual, security cable in the frame, and even the air pump is still present! It has an aftermarket side stand that I believe is a Farley (?). It also has always had the "S" style bars since I have owned it, which I really like. The following changes/upgrades/etc. were done at around 26K miles. I'm told all work was performed by a BMW dealership. It has certainly held up well. 1,000cc upgradeCarbs rebuilt and upgradedRebuilt cylinder heads w/ new valves, guides, seals, and unleaded proof seatsTiming chain and tensionerCrankshaft and cam shaft sealsPushrod tube sealsCrankcase breather serviceAlternator rotor service37/11 rear driveNew brake shoes/padsRebuilt forks with "Progressive Suspension" fork internals. New rubber bootsNew petcocksThrottle, clutch, speedometer, brake cablesWheel bearings/sealsSpeedometer and tachometer replaced with used units, the speedo showing 42K. I don't know why-but the previous owner documented it being done. The following service/upgrades were done this year, most of it recently. Dunlop K70 tires front and rear w/tubes and stripsNew seat cover from Bob's. Still has original trim and rail!Mufflers and crossover pipeBMW fuel linesAGM BatteryBrand new German Valve Covers--(purely a vanity decision)New Magura gripsValves adjustedAll fluids, filters, lube This is a great bike with no issues, and a bit of a surprise when you twist the grip. No disappointments, just grins. Now the business sidebar. Please do not bid on this bike if you have less than 10 eBay transactions without contacting me first, or your bid WILL be cancelled. Please do not bid if you are outside the USA unless you contact me first, or I will cancel your bid. I prefer a phone call. 231-631-7150 8:00-10:00 EST. Email is OK too. NO TEXTS PLEASE! I am traveling from Northern Michigan to the Barber Vintage bike event in Birmingham, Alabama in early October and I can safely bring the bike with me if it helps the auction winner save some money. The bike will have to be paid for 100%, of course. Thank you!
