Here we have a lovely 1936 R2 that was restored a few years ago to a high standard. The R2 is the smallest displacement motorcycle that BMW ever made. But it is a real motorcycle - not a moped. It has a stamped metal frame like R12 R17 R4 R3 R16 R11 etc.. and a friction damped leaf spring front end. It is a rigid frame so there is no rear suspension. This is fun little motorcycle to ride around, with no worries of getting a speeding ticket. Top speed is about 35mph - it has 3 speeds and is a hand shift type transmission. This example has been in a local collection for a few years, and now it's time to reduce the crowd a bit. This R2 has legitimate original frame and engine numbers, along with the original data tag.
