Well, it’s hard to believe the years have passed. My baby, this 2008 Buick Enclave CXL, was purchased new almost ten years ago. Time does fly. This is a remarkable car in many ways, still today. It looks and handles like a sports car, built like a tank, takes snow and rainy weather with ease, all with timeless beauty. Shortly after we got our new Enclave, one of our kids had a bit of queasiness on trips so the DVD player was never used. If you look in the photos, you will see the wireless headsets and remote control are still wrapped, never used. This is arguably one of the quietest, richest car rides I have ever owned, kept in a garage at both work and home. Sure, it has its minor blemishes and small signs of use, but people always remark it looks nearly new. Ten years is a bit of time, with a couple fender benders that have been expertly repaired, the car nonetheless shows remarkably well. Statistics indicate that buyers will pay up to 15 per cent more for single owner cars such as this. The consistent steady use and care of one owner all add up to better dependability. Meticulous records are available for the routine maintenance, and the car currently boasts new brakes and nearly new tires. One thing that always bothers me about many cars is the missing options. The blank spaces in the dash, missing switches and accessories make it seem half finished. This top of the line CXL has every option that I know was ever offered. It’s beautifully styled after the luxurious cabins of executive jets, the rich wood and leather trim adding to the expressly quiet comfortable ride. It has excellent storage throughout and numerous areas for small storage and cup holders. The heated seats and three-zone climate system add to the sumptuous comfort one experiences either cruising on a long road trip or quick stop at the local store. The scenery can be thoroughly enjoyed through the expanse of generous glass including panoramic front and rear moon roofs each with their own shade system. Controllable headliner lights and comfort vents complete the jet-like feeling. Each of both first and second row bucket seats complete the feeling of individual comfort while the folding third row accommodates another three making it seven passenger or if you choose, just four with rear row folded offering most generous additional storage. The appointments and electronics are well thought and innovative. The entertainment system accommodates CD/DVD, AM/FM/XM Bose signature sound system with Aux input for other devices. On-Star satellite system can accommodate voice navigation, assistance, emergency response and cellular subscription. The car starts like a fighter jet. In the video you will see the gauges and directional headlights swing and calibrate into position.
