Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a fully restored 1971 Honda CL100S Scrambler. It’s a blast from the past and a great little vintage Honda that is fun to ride and will only appreciate in value. The bike still has original paint on it. Current mileage on the bike is just 2,333. The gas tank paint is original and in great shape except for where the front of the seat has rubbed off some of the original tank paint. I have temporarily touched that up with paint that is a close match (see last picture). If you want to make it perfect, the correct color touch up paint is still available from ColorRite.com. There is one very small shallow indentation in the right side of the tank, but it’s so shallow that I couldn’t get it to show up well in the pictures. The gas tank is clean inside and is sealed. The original side covers were cracked beyond repair (see picture of them), so I had to source new OEM Honda side covers. Not easy! I finally found some all the way in Indonesia at a distribution center where these small bikes are much more commonly owned and ridden. The side covers are NOS (new old stock) original Honda side covers with original paint. They were not cheap to buy! Ouch! The tires and chrome wire wheels are new. The original Scrambler style high exhaust on the bike is like new, not a pin hole in it anywhere! This bike is now as close to a “new” 1971 CL100S as you can get. I have performed over 80 hours of work on this vintage Honda to get her fully restored. She’s a great little bike and blast to ride. Very light and easy to handle even for a beginner rider. I have a Microsoft Word document that contains a daily description of all work performed and hours spent on each task. I also have over 150 digital pictures of all of my restoration work that will come with the bike as well. I will also include a digital Honda factory service manual for the bike. Restoration work includes, but not limited to, the following: + Disassembled entire bike and cleaned all components and parts+ Installed new Seat cover+ Removed stripped and painted air filter housing, battery box and tool box+ Installed new foam air filter+ Removed, cleaned, de-rusted and undercoated chrome chain guard with Rustoleum Titanium paint+ Removed, cleaned, de-rusted and undercoated chrome fenders with Rustoleum Titanium paint+ Removed, cleaned and polished front and rear drum brake assemblies/hubs+ Cleaned and rebuilt front and rear brakes+ Installed correct new Honda OEM high-low beam headlight assembly+ Installed correct Honda OEM horn+ Cleaned, lubed, installed and adjusted drive chain+ Inspected and repaired wiring harness where necessary+ Installed new Honda OEM side covers with new CL100S emblems+ Installed new chrome wire wheels+ Installed new front and rear tires+ Completely rebuilt front forks with new Honda OEM fork tubes, fork seal kit and fork oil+ Installed new rubber fork gators+ Drained and refilled crankcase oil+ Installed new left and right side mirrors+ Installed correct muffler baffle+ Installed new gas tank fuel petcock (valve)+ Cleaned and lubed ignition advance assembly+ Adjusted timing chain tensioner+ Adjusted valves+ Installed new ignition condenser+ Set breaker point gap to .013” and adjusted spark timing+ Cleaned/painted side stand and center stand+ Cleaned and repainted engine covers as necessary+ Checked engine compression (155 psi)+ Installed new battery+ Cleaned and rebuilt carburetor+ Adjusted carburetor screws as follows: Idle mixture screw = 1&1/2 turns out. Throttle stop screw = 3 turns out. Bike starts, idles, and runs great at those settings. Change them at your own peril! This little vintage bike currently has a legal Georgia title! That’s rare for a bike this old. The new owner will have a beautifully restored vintage Honda to ride and show. U.S. Bidders Only. No bidders with less than 10 previous purchases with all positive feedback will be accepted. (If you’re not buying, don’t bid!) Good luck bidding.
