Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is my trusty steed. I've owned it since 1/8" of registrations stickers on the plate, or since about 1986. My brother held it hostage for a short time while I sorted bills, as shown on the title, back in '08. Anywho; I got it from a senior that couldn't ride it any longer with 8950 on the clock. It had been in a dry garage since new. I gave it full resto, polished every bit, then road it regularly for decades. Only time its been wet is when it got washed or I got caught in the rain. It never sits out in the sun-guage faces aren't faded. If you notice, I DID NOT take crappy flip phone pics from 30' away. Fuzzy film and what little rust you do is see is just age and humidity, all visible in the pics. I've only been able to ride it a few times since a bicycle crash two years ago messed up my right hand. Hence the selling part. Painful to hang on the bars for more than 1/2 an hour and I can't grab the front brake securely. Since it hasn't moved much in the last year-tag just went off in March, I've just parked it. I've changed the oil every 2K religiously. It doesn't use oil. It runs well, when I get it started-the idle jets have gone fuzzy. Needs a shot of ether. Tank has no rust or dents, its alway wintered on Sta-bil and a full tank. Battery is a year old. Know bits in need of service; carbs, tach screws fell out of the face years ago, neutral switch doesn't alway light the light. One side cover is cracked, right cover missing a lower tab-I have it. It has a few o-ring seeps but no leaks. (the toggle on the left of the bar clamp is a headlight cutout I added for warming up, headlamp is halogen-lowering battery drain-it unplugs). New pair of bar grips. I didn't polish my turd, I blew the sawdust off and snapped picks. Nothing hiding from film. It needs some serious cleaning. I ride it/rode. I don't buff it. It has paint chips and wear as an old bike will. Seat is in great shape, vinyl soft. I have a small collection of service parts.; oil filters, some carb gaskets, repair manuals, maybe a spare chain and headlamp if I can find them. I've only laid it down once, sitting still, when I forgot to put the side stand down causing a small dingleberry on the right lower pipe. The 4-4 exhaust is original and doesn't leak. Only aftermarket hard parts are a Dyna III electronic conversion, a Barnett clutch pack and brakes. The factory pads sucked. All still fine. If you have any question... Buyer picks up. Bring a temp tag and ride it home if you want.
