Vehicle Detail
I am the second owner of this 1990 Maui Blue Reatta Coupe. I searched for the best Reatta and this one was near perfect. I enjoyed driving it so I made it my everyday driver. I would like it to go to someone who can appreciate this unique car while I find a different car for everyday use. It drives nicely and is solid and tight. It handles well and can be driven assertively through corners and curves. The GM 3800 V6 is torquey and revs smoothly without hesitation. I am good to all my cars. Annually this is taken to Krown for their creeping, wicking, gooey under-spray which is applied to all the hidden areas like inside doors, rockers, and other cavities. They thoroughly coat the chassis and engine compartment with their self-healing compound that protects all surfaces, seams, connectors and even the wiring from corrosion. I apply a layer of silicone to the wheel opening edges to protect from road spray. It rubs off like rubber cement come spring. The leather is been cleaned and treated regularly. The seats are still soft and supple. Though it is pictured with different wheels, it will come with the original Reatta rims. There are no cracks in the blue leather seats or steering wheel. The dash is fine as is the carpeting and the carpeted cargo area behind the seats. All lights and instruments work as they should. The clean original Reatta floor mats were cleaned and then never used. The trunk is just as clean and has a pass-through opening between trunk and passenger compartment. The list of what it needs is short. The trunk lock is missing. One day I noticed it was missing. I use the remote so I never noticed. The ABS light has been on since I bought the car. It doesn’t interfere with braking so I never bothered with it. It is probably a sensor wire. The warning light for the brakes is on. This happened when the button at the end of the parking brake cable snapped off. Somehow the car knows that I do not have a parking brake. Over the last year many electronic parts were been replaced to address the intermittent Service Engine light. Included were new plugs, wires, oxygen sensor, battery, ignition module, coils, body computer, IAC, MAP, air cleaner temp sensor, fuel pump, relay, coolant temp sensor, throttle position sensor, and probably some others that I am forgetting. In my time the struts front and rear were replaced and front suspension bushings have been replaced as needed. A new A/C compressor was installed last year. The hidden headlights had been repaired by the previous owner and work well. This is a good solid, clean low mileage car that you can enjoy driving for a long long time. Please look over the pictures as thoroughly as you can and ask all the questions you want. Any information will be added to the listing so everyone can benefit. If I have missed an important piece of info please ask. Buying a car is all your own decision and you must take all the precautions you need to feel confident in your purchase. The best way to reach me is through eBay’s Ask-a-question link in the Seller Info section at the top right of the page. To protect myself I ask that no one bid unless they have the means to pay for and pick up the car. You are bidding to buy. I require a $500 non-refundable deposit within 2 days of the auctions end and full payment made and cleared before I will turn over the NYS title. A bank check must be from a nationally recognized well-established bank. I am smart enough to be immune to scams so please don’t waste my time with them. This car is sold as-is and with no warranty of any kind. The car is 28 years old and while it is a good car it does have its faults. Things happen with an old car. I have tried to describe it completely. The final responsibility for asking questions is yours. Shipping/Delivery/Pick up is the responsibility of the buyer though I will be glad to assist as possible. The car is listed for sale locally and on other sites. I therefore must reserve the right to sell this car before this auctions conclusion.
