1968 L79 Corvette Roadster. This car has been restored back to its original like new condition. All original car that has never been in any kind of accident and retains its original factory engine, transmission and rear end. This car was in a garage in Elma New York and of the road since 1986, stored by its original owner. It took the second owner, who was a friend of the original owner 10 years to talk him into selling it to him. He was with him in 1968 when they both ordered identical cars. The second owner of this car bought this one from his friend because he had sold the one he bought and could not buy it back. I have original pics of the car before restoration in the garage where it sat for more than 25 years. This is one of three hundred L79's built with the vinyl removable hard top that is still original. The car had a complete frame off restoration in 2011-2012 with complete documentation and pictures. The frame was solid before shot blasting, zinc rich epoxy prime then baked in an industrial oven for 3 hours then topcoated with urethane enamel and then baked again for 6 hours. The completed brake system is stainless steel with silicon brake fluid to reduce moisture. The paint was stripped to the gel coat and repainted this beautiful Corvette 50th anniversary torch red color. This car still retains the original interior with new carpeting and working fiber optic lights. There is over $20k in parts from the restoration, too many parts to list. Paint, engine, transmission, rear end, clutch, brakes, calipers, master cyl., heater core, gas tank, alt, steering shocks chrome, soft top, ect. ect. Many of the replacement parts were NOS. Also included is the original owners manual and dealer brochure stamped from the original Bob Bain Chevrolet dealer in Buffalo, N.Y. Car had 74,586 miles on it before restoration. The second owner put less than 50 miles on it and I have put about 4,000 miles on it. This is a true American classic that is going up in value and a joy to drive. As I said, superb condition with the engine, transmission and rear end rebuilt during the restoration. The interior is completely original except for replacement carpet. All the rest of the interior is totally original and in super condition. The steering wheel is a new replacement but the car comes with the original faux wood grain steering wheel as well.I put in a reproduction steering wheel from a '69 corvette to preserve the original because it is rare and in unusually good condition. The car will come with both tops (the original hard top is in excellent condition and the soft top is new), the original steering wheel plus the one pictured, a custom fit soft cover, original brochure, original owners manual, it's original New York license plate, storage cover for hard top, and lifting harness for easy install of hard top and extensive book filled with restoration receipts and photos.
