Under the Hood Engine compartment was just completely detailed to mostly factory specifications and cleaned for a fresh lookThe powerhouse of this Camaro is an Era-Correct HN Code 350/300hp Small Block Chevy that is tuned to start right up and provides very crisp throttle response. Very rare to come across engines in classic cars that run as well as this one does! Painted to factory Chevy Orange color!HN Code refers to the Suffix Code on the front of the engine behind the alternator. This tells you what year the block was cast in and possibly what vehicle(s) the engine was found in.According to online databases, HN decodes to a 1969 350 Small Block that was rated at 300 horsepower from the factory with a 4-Barrel carburetor and designated by GM as a high-performance engine.Car is backed by a 4-Speed Manual Transmission that shifts smooth and cruises very quietly down the roadRochester 750 CFM Vacuum Secondary Carburetor with a choke ensures quick easy startups and runs this engine like a dream.Original GM Cast Intake Manifold painted the correct Chevy Orange color with the correct firing order and "snowflake" stampings ensures original looks and OEM performance.Factory-Style Ignition System/Distributor with Points-Style Cap, Vacuum Advance, and Spark Plug WiresCorrect Stamped 12v Ignition CoilVery Rare Factory-Style Finned Aluminum Chevrolet Valve Covers with correct Chevrolet Racing Flag Decal. The Power Steering Gearbox was even painted the correct flat gray color like the rest of the parts listed above!Power Steering Pressure and Return hoses were completely replaced and not reused like you see on most cars when only select components are replaced which tend to leak and cause issuesEven the correct hose clamps were used on the radiator and heater core hoses! The small details count people! Cheap flimsy worm-gear hose clamps from the hardware store weren't going to cut it for the person who restored this Camaro.GM Stamped Heater Core HosesHigh Performance Factory-Style Brass Radiator keeps this engine super cool even on those hot days!Fully Functional Delco HornsFull-Length Exhaust Headers for added performance and a smoother exhaust note!Engine & Frame Mounts were replaced during the drivetrain restorationCorrect Original-Style Fan Shroud and Bracket Exterior Fully detailed exterior (multi-stage wet-sand, buff, compound, polish, and wax) that brings out the shine on this beautiful car!Code 72-72 Hugger Orange '69 Camaro that was repainted with a basecoat-clearcoat paint job during the restoration that shines like a mirror!Factory-Style Correct Black Vinyl Hockey Stripe that adds a nice touch to the SS trim on the carFactory 15" GM Rally Wheels on BFGoodrich Radial T/A White-Lettered Tires that allows gives an old-school look to this Camaro yet allows you to drive on today's roads with modern radial constructed tire technology.Polished Stainless Steel Trim RingsBeautiful Factory Turbine-Style Center CapsSS 350 TrimD80 Spoiler PackageAll trim/chrome around the car was just hand-polished to shine like the day the car was brought home from the dealershipMuch of the chrome and trim pieces around the car was either replaced or fully re-chromed during the restoration giving this car a factory fresh lookPolished Stainless Steel Drip Rail MoldingsCorrect Delco Windshield Wiper Blades and Arms with a Polished FinishBlacked-Out Tail PanelPolished Stainless Steel Dual Exhaust TipsAll New Lock Cylinders around the car (doors, trunk, glove box, etc.)Just about all of the hardware and fasteners around the car were replaced with fresh OEM replacements when the car was reassembled on the final stages of its restoration. Many purists out there would infer this kind of work to be classified as a 'nut/bolt' restoration literally because the nuts/bolts used are new! This hardware can be uniquely identified by looking at the face of the fastener. It should feature a black-oxide coating, a hexagonal shaped head, and a pre-installed flat washer that is typically a 1/16th of an inch thick. These types of fasteners are used on critical body components such as fenders, doors, valence, header panel, etc. On the tip of the bolt you will see it spirals into a sharp point rather than most you will obtain at a hardware store which are flat-tipped. This allowed the factory to quickly assemble the car without centering everything perfectly. The bolt would self-center as it was secured onto the nut without stripping the threads or create a cross-threading pattern. You learn something new everyday!Front Grille Moldings were painted Hugger Orange to match the color of the car which is factory-correct and almost always left in primer black by many of those who replace this part when it becomes brokenCorrect SS Hood Louvers on the correct steel SS Style HoodPolished Stainless Steel Wheel Well TrimHeadlight Shrouds were painted black again for that correct lookAll weatherstripping/rubber product around the car was replaced during the massive and extensive restoration including but not limited to:Inner and Outer Window Felt SweepersDoor WeatherstrippingQuarter Window SealsRoof Rail WeatherstripHood to Cowl SealTrunk WeatherstripDoor BumpersHood BumpersFront Windshield has modern tinted visor to keep the sun out of your eyes!Polished Stainless Steel Front & Rear Windshield Reveal Moldings that shine with a beautiful lusterEven the lights around the car such as headlights (low and high beam of course), park lamps, turn signals, sidemarkers, and tail lights are fully functional which is very rare to come across. Many cars have chewed up or frayed wiring that leads to grounding issues or resistance build-up and will short out important electrical items that are necessary for the road! This car has all replacement wiring to ensure safe and proper electrical functioning. All glass around the car is crystal clear!Correct Front Fender Mounted Antenna with chrome base/bezel.Rear Chrome Bumper GuardsPolished Stainless Rocker Panel MoldingsFactory '69 Camaro Shark Fin Louver Trim is a unique signature design of the Camaro that wasn't brought back into use until the 5th Generation Camaro which began for the 2010 year model.Correct Polished Stainless Steel Carriage Bolts were used on the front and rear chrome bumpers. Most cars are missing small parts like these... Interior Code 727 Ivory Interior that was fully restored with almost all new components and was just freshly cleaned and detailed!Re-Upholstered and Re-Foamed Standard Ivory Front Bucket Seats with Headrests. No clunky aftermarket tach with a hose-clamp was installed on this car!Fully Functioning Factory 120mph SpeedometerGauge Cluster Lens was fully polished inside and out and is crystal clear! Many cars of this age have very faded gauge cluster lenses making it difficult to read your speed or engine RPM.Brand New Retractable Front GM Chrome Lap Seat Belts with correct GM Mark of Excellence stampingsRear Original GM Lap Belts Underbody Beautiful undercarriage that has been just cleaned, de-greased, and detailed giving a fresh clean look! All of the floors were painted the correct semi-gloss black just like it would've came from the factory with!Just about all of the components in the underbody area were replaced during the extensive restoration this car underwent. All subframe bushings were replacedMulti-Leaf spring rear suspension with only three leafs gives a great balance between a firm ride that corners very well. Yet it's not too stiff like some Camaro's with as many as five leaf springs where it almost feels like you're driving an old pickup truck when you hit bumps on the road.Subframe looks to have been sanded down and fully repainted during restoration for long lasting protectionAll fuel lines and brake lines were also replaced with new OEM style parts3/8" High Performance Front to Rear Fuel Line keeps this 350 adequately supplied with fuel at all timesFuel Tank was painted a nice flat silver and mounting straps were given a semi-gloss black finish.Fully Working Parking Brake which is quite rare for these carsMost of the time the cables corroded, frayed, and broke off leaving it inoperable. Believe it or not it is very common in classic cars to find a parking brake that is not functional.Flowmaster Dual H-Pipe Exhaust System adds extra performance to the car and sounds as great as any raw classic American V8 should! Compared to some other exhaust systems on the market, this Flowmaster system has very little drone inside the cab making those long highway trips migraine-free!All engine/transmission mounts were changed out with new ones during the drivetrain restorationFront end suspension was completely serviced with all new bushings/components. Tie Rod Ends, Ball Joints, Control Arm Bushings, Power Steering Gearbox Linkage, etc. This car handles excellent around corners and is very responsive! Many classic cars you will find out there haven't had the suspension serviced in decades or even at all. You can identify this when it feels like you're all over the road and have to constantly correct your steering wheel. Not an issue with a car like this that was properly worked-on.Trunk was painted with the correct spatter paint and comes with a reproduction trunk mat as you can see in the photos below.Trunk latch was painted the correct flat silverCompletely new rear wiring harness in the trunk with new light bulb sockets and sidemarker housingsTrunk deck lid has the correct jacking instructions and limited slip decals oriented in the correct position (see photos below)Jacking instructions decal looks slightly crooked? Believe it or not, this is a small detail that was replicated here on this car that was done by the factory. These cars were on an assembly line and perfect orientation was not a concern. They stuck it on and moved on to the next car to keep production moving quickly. TakeawayTo briefly sum this car up, this 1969 Camaro is the quintessential classic muscle car that you've been looking for. Whether you have a collection that you want to add this car to or even take this car out driving every day, this car was built from the factory for that and was restored with that same idea kept in mind. Not to mention you can't ask for anything better than an old-school muscle car with the gulping sound of American Chevy V8! We encourage any potential buyers to please visit this car (if possible) as seeing it in a picture is just not going to do this car any justice. Although it is a beautiful restoration, please understand that this car was not restored just yesterday and may have some imperfections. Also, we cannot verify this car to be a factory-born true SS as we do not have any of the original paperwork such as a build sheet, protect-o-plate, etc. As with all classic cars, it may need a few odds and ends down the line as you begin to drive it more often. However, we would still be very proud to own and drive this car every day and know for sure you would be too.
