Vehicle Detail
THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A MERCURY M100 SHORT BED UNIBODY TRUCK. DON'T MISS IT! A bit of history for those that aren't familiar with Ford or Mercury unibody trucks. Many people have never seen one! In 1961 Ford took the bold step of combining cab body and bed into one piece which had never been done before resulting in a very interesting vehicle. The production run only lasted 2 1/2 years because farm customers tended to overload them causing the body to warp making the doors difficult to open and close. Today these very rare and unique trucks, especially the short beds, are highly prized by hot rodders and custom build shops. Just look at what's on the cover of the current issue of Street Trucks magazine for proof. This is a good restorable truck. I purchased this truck from a body shop in BC Canada. Body work appears to have been completed on most of the body. The floors appear to be solid and usable as is. The cab mounts look decent. The steps appear to have been repaired. I expect there was some rust there. The glass is all good. The dash is complete without a radio and in good condition. Seat frame is usable. The tires are rags but it rolls. The bed floor is without holes and usable. The grill is restorable. The doors look good. The hood and one fender have been removed but they go with the truck Old Canadian trucks are usually completely rusted out but not this one! It is in very good condition for what it is and where it is from. I am a unibody truck collector with a restoration shop. Currently I have seven unibody trucks, all but one are for sale as I am trying to downsize. I have another Mercury M-100 for sale but it is not as nice, nor is it as complete as this one. Mercury unibody trucks are EXTREMELY RARE, virtually impossible to find. ATTENTION: This vehicle does not run, there is no engine or transmission. I have removed all the irreplaceable parts from the truck for safe keeping. This truck does not have a title. Canada does not issue titles, they have registrations. This truck does not have a registration either but I did legally import it into the USA where the truck is now located near to Seattle (zip code 98223). I have complete documentation from Homeland Security, US customs documentation, and a bill of sale from the Canadian owner. That will all go with the vehicle. Licensing regulations vary from state to state so if you are interested in bidding be sure to check with your state licensing agency to see what they will require to get it titled. Many states allow for junk car rebuilds. Other states do not requires a title at all. I have no idea what your state requires. You need to know what your local laws are before bidding! Feel free to ask questions. Thanks. UPDATE: I am sorry to say the tailgate as pictured is missing. I may have been stolen. I have a spare Mercury tailgate I can include but it is no where near as good as the one that is missing. The important part, the center section with the MERCURY letters is usable but the frame is rusted. A Ford tailgate can be mated with this section to make a solid one. Dennis Carpenter and others offer a new Ford tailgate which can be mated to use the Mercury script section. THat is exactly what I am doing with the Merc unibidy I am building for myself.
