1969 Honda Z50 K1 Early Silvertag. I bought this bike several years ago from the original owner in Palm Springs Calif. He said there was maybe 20-50 hours on it. He told me that his wealthy parents owned a huge one level ranch style home, and he would open the patio doors and ride through the house and into the yard. He graduated to a CT70 and this bike sat. That's the history I was told. When I got it, I wanted to preserve as much of the original parts that were still good and restore the rest as it was pretty much a survivor. Paint was just okay, so I decided to get Classic Honda Painting to lay a correct custom high end paint job on it and it looks beautiful. The bike had the optional engine guard on it and original exhaust, so I had them both re-chromed. They also came out really nice, and muffler has the correct verbiage on it. I removed the engine and had it shipped to Gunderson restorations in Las Vegas for a complete rebuild. They tested it on a roller and it went through the gears and performed excellent using a CHP carb as the original needs a rebuild. I have never rode the bike, I just wanted it as a collector, so I put the original carb back on it, and did not put gas in the clean rust free tank. I have black plastic levers on it now from the KO model year before as I like the look, but I have a new set of Honda levers I will install for the buyer if they desire. FYI, the last photo is of the bike with original seat, other pics show a new seat, buyer gets the original seat. If you buy it and want to ride it, I suggest getting a CHP carb as they perform well and easily install in minutes. I'll list what is original and what is new on the bike as best as I possibly can.
