Vehicle Detail

Classic & Gorgeous 1986 Mercedes Benz 300SDL Turbo Diesel Here is one of the better examples of the 300 SDL's left that you'll find. This car was owned for a majority of its life by a single owner, bought by a Mercedes engineer who went through the vehicle and in a short time re-sold to the current owner who has given it additional care. This car spent most its life in rural New Jersey. It was meticulously maintained and driven sparingly, spending most of the time in the garage. The second and current owners have maintained this tradition keeping the car in a climate controlled garage. Services since 2011:(2nd owner)Front suspension joints (OE Mercedes parts)Transmission fluid changeNew Denso CompressorCooling system flush & new thermostatPirelli P6 TiresNew Mercedes Battery (3rd owner)Rebuilt Turbo- professionally balanced with 360 degree thrust bearingNew rear springsNew Bilstein rear shocksNew hood padNew Mercedes OE driver's side internal seat springRebuilt & pop-tested Bosch injectorsNew OEM glow plugsNew fuel pump sealsComplete diesel purge with Lubro-Moly from GermanyNew KAE overload relayFlushed power steering & new filterNew Blaupunkt radio (original Becker included- I gave up) Unaddressed issues (I've just run out of time to do these):Passenger side power mirror inoperativeAC not blowing cold (compressor does work)Driver's seat does not tilt (minor fix)Passenger headrest does not rise (minor fix) Ride quality is exceptional, as it should be for a long-wheelbase S class! The engine runs excellent and does not consume any oil or coolant. It's very powerful with excellent throttle response. The paint is largely original and shows very nicely with only a few minor scratches and dings. Chrome is excellent. The interior is leather and is in excellent condition. There is no significant wear or scratches anywhere. The wood is very nice without sun fading. The rear hat shelf looks like new and has no fading. Sunroof works perfectly. The interior headliner is in excellent condition. I recommend an in-person inspection of the car, just to ensure we're all on the same page and there are no surprises. Your chance to inspect the car is before the auction ends, not after! I also recommend serious bidders contact me so I know who you are, and you know who I am. I'm happy to work with your shipper and welcome international buyers. Remember: This is a 32 year old car. While it is in excellent condition, please be realistic in your expectations. Truly perfect, concours cars are very difficult, if not impossible to come by and this is not one of them. No warranty is expressed or implied. After the auction ends, the high bidder must contact me with in 24 hours to arrange details of the transaction. Payment must be made in full within 3 days, unless arrangements are made prior to the end of the auction. Payment in person must be made in cash. Payment by mail should be a certified cashiers check and sent overnight. Car can not be picked up until funds clear. Car is for sale locally and seller may end auction early. Vehicle ONLY for sale to US locations! There are very few of these left in this condition. Serious bidders only. Thank you!
