Vehicle Detail
Fast Classic V8 Porsche 928 Fully mechanically detailed 1981 Porsche 928 with the rare 1981 928S Front & Rear Spoiler Sport Option Package, including the very rare bucket Sport Seats, and the highly desirable Original Style 928 "Phone Dial" Rims. I have my non-running, but mechanically detailed 1981 928 up for sale, here on ebay. This is my second 928, and has always been a restoration project under my ownership. I have put extreme amounts of attention to detail into manually degreasing this vehicle. The engine, engine-bay, wheel-wells, and full undercarriage were 100% meticulously cleaned, by hand, over the course of two full summers, and the intakes are hand-polished using multiple grades of sandpaper & steel-wool. This was a running vehicle when I got it, but some parts that were taken off during the detailing process will need to be put back on, to get it running again. All parts are included. This is the only mechanical work that needs to be done. These things include: new Fuel pump, new fuel filter (included), putting some parts back on, like fan & belts, some clamps and fasteners, new fluids, battery, new wipers, etc. The car has been in storage for a long time, so you'll want to check bulbs, belts, and so forth. There is very little rust on this car, only near the roof windshield trim, and and the visible paint is largely good, with the bulk of the paint imperfections being on the front & rear rubber bumpers, and a chip about the size of a quarter behind the driver's side door. The interior is mostly ok, but will require attention, if you don't decide to do a full leather upgrade. Vinyl needs adhesive, for the most part. All pieces, including the leather armrests, are included. The headliner needs some glue along the windshield, but is otherwise perfect. This 1981 928 has the "S" sport competition package, including the rare "Sport" seats. It also has original Phone Dial rims. This Porsche is ideal for a full restoration. It is completely mechanically detailed, with no grease or grime, whatsoever, on or around the engine, engine bay, undercarriage, or wheel-wells. This car sports hand-polished intakes on the V8. The vehicle has a Clean Title, a low 111732 Miles, the Engine and Transmission are good, and the car has been largely garage kept. This 928 has been in storage, and it is partially restored. Some minor mechanical work needs to be completed to get it running, and the vehicle needs a good deal of interior work. This means that some parts were taken out to fully degrease the car, and just need to be put back on. The prior owner gave it it's current color scheme, it was originally blue, and is still listed as blue on the title, if you choose to return it to it's original factory color. The original color is evident with paint peeling under the hood, and along the hatch seals, but, overall, the paint looks good & sparkles. This is a vehicle for restoration. It does not currently drive. This is a vehicle for someone with mechanical ability and the money needed to fully restore a car. When purchased, it will need to be moved on a flatbed, to move it, properly, from this location, in Northern NJ. This car is for restoration, by someone who truly appreciates 928s. There are very few 1981 cars that are this clean underneath, and even fewer 1981 Porsches that are professionally & meticulously mechanically detailed throughout. Hemmings Motor News has recently stated: "the time to find a bargain 928 is running out... the fast GT car now takes its own place of honor among the Porsche faithful, and collectors are noticing." All of the "Dirty Work" has been done on this car. If you are looking for a good base for a full restoration, then this is the car for you!
