Vehicle Detail
I have relisted the Imperial after I ended the auction within hours of its initial listing. (A car loving wife, which created second thoughts). But she is now in agreement, as I simply do not have the health to see it through. As stated before, my wife and I love large automobiles, especially Imperials. This is a 1961 (Chrysler) Imperial Lebaron that I quit on about seven years ago for health reasons. Three years ago, my wife and I moved from WV to North Carolina. We recently brought the Imperial to our home in North Carolina and have decided to sell it. The Imperials History: The Imperial belonged to a man who grew older and passed away. After the man's passing, his sons pulled the Imperial out of the garage and parked it to the side. A GM Guy knew the now deceased man and realized a Mopar enthusiast would want the Imperial unscathed. So, he quickly bought the Imperial. He then sold the Imperial to me: A Mopar Guy. Once I purchased it, the Imperial's engine and transmission were gone through. The radiator and gas tank were removed, addressed and sealed. The Imperial's carburetor, starter and alternator were professionally rebuilt. All hoses and belts were replaced. The brake lines, brake cylinder and six wheel cylinders were also replaced and refilled with silicon brake fluid. With its stainless steel roof inserts, Lebaron wheel covers, limousine rear window, and huge fins, I drove the Imperial. It drove like a dream, and many slowed to view it. In time, I put a dent in the passenger's side rear door while putting it back in my garage. To repair the dent, I took the door panel off to address the dent and then decided to disassemble the complete car and do a restoration. My wife helped, labeling all the parts. I had Tri-City Chrome Plating re-chrome the front and rear bumpers. I purchased new inside carpeting, the trunk cardboard and the rubber for the trunk and I believe the doors. All still in their boxes. A new headliner was installed, (I jumped the gun, as I pulled the headliner back near the rear window to remove the rear window glass). The support foam in both front and back seats, along with the seat's fabric inserts, were replaced. The silver seat leather was left in place. My wife and I are located about 30 minutes east of Asheville, and have been in the vintage car hobby for a long time. Some of our histories can be read at www.myimperials.com . My phone number is 828-215-1863 for those who may want to call. Good Luck and Happy Bidding.
