Vehicle Detail

PRICED FOR MID-WINTER SALE - lowered again! WE ARE OUT OF STATE FOR CHRISTMAS from 12/18 - 01/04. CANNOT SHIP until the week of 01/08 - thanks in advance. Need to make room for another project that has my interest, so your timing is excellent. The pictures will likely tell you this is a very straight and very clean C5 Convertible, and like all Corvettes in stock condition and options, this is also a very nicely maintained example through the 6 owners like me who've enjoyed it. I discovered this C5 in late spring 2017 on eBay, flew into Michigan to do the paperwork and drove the 650 miles straight home to Greensboro. Having never had a Corvette in my wide automotive history, it was and continues to be an exhilarating highway vehicle. Effortless acceleration in all gears with a confident 33-34 mpg over my ~3,500 miles, the stiff hydro-formed C5 chassis and long wheelbase make for a great cruising car. The 1999-2000 five spoke GM RPO wheels were originally chrome and have just been deglazed and powder-coated in gloss black by a local NC shop and the results were amazing. Black 12 x 1.5 lug nuts and OEM center caps complete the look. All TPMS sensors work and tires have lots of tread left as they were fairly new when I bought the car. All electrical systems, gauges and accessories work 100%. The CAGS gearshift system (EPA compliance) still works like it should but is easily worked around....an additional bit of gas when leaving 1st gear puts it quiet again. New oil pressure gauge sending unit (AC Delco) installed last month without removing the intake manifold, etc., solving a common C5 issue. Cold oil pressure ~50 psig at 1500 rpm; warm pressure at 35-40 psig (see pic). You can also rest easy - I had the CLB recall completed in late summer '17 by Terry Labonte Chevrolet to make sure this other common C5 issue was taken care of. [GM has discontinued the passenger seatbelt as a service part so this only open recall was not completed. Wind the belt carefully back into the retractor and we haven't had any issues.] Top was replaced by the previous owner and is perfect. Very nice black canvas unit. Someone along the way replaced the seats or seatcovers with the "Z06" designs seen here. This C5 is not a Z06 and as you can see from the RPO Codes label, it does not have the Z51 suspension either. Stock lowering bolts front and back; car looks to be sitting about 0.5" lower than factory and is obviously easy to put back up. This is an excellent and season-sensitive opportunity to get a perfect C5 convertible at the price of a '09 Honda Civic.
