Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is a 1969 Triumph Trident T150, with its original dealer installed North American "Beauty Kit". Extensive repairs were made about 10 years ago, which included (among other things): powdercoated frame, three new Amal carburetors, three new Tri-Spark coils, Tri-Spark electronic ignition, new front fork tubes, new cables, new saddle. The Trident has been stored in a heated garage for the last 5 years, and it's time to pass own to a new owner. In preparing for sale, the bike was given an engine oil/filter change and fresh gas. It started right up (2nd kick) and runs reliably, but needs a new battery. It is difficult to start if the battery is not freshly charged (battery is now 10 years old). All electrics (horn, lights, etc) work correctly, but original wiring harness is showing its age (bike does come with a new harness). The transmission and clutch work correctly. The speedometer works properly and I believe the mileage shown is accurate. To my knowledge, the engine has not been rebuilt. Engine oil light turns off promptly upon starting the engine, and does not turn on during normal idling. The fenders and tank have their original paint. They are very presentable, but do have a few minor dents and scratches. Original gold pin striping is gone in places. Paint has been removed from right-side tank badge. Right side cover is correct for North American Variant, left side cover is not correct. Both side covers have scuffs in their original paint. Original mufflers are missing as they were replaced by a previous owner with aftermarket cone mufflers. The original gas tank is solid but interior was sealed (poorly) by a previous owner. Fuel petcocks and their filters have been recently replaced. Included with the motorcycle is a clear Virginia Title, and numerous spares including:Owners ManualFactory Service ManualParts ManualAftermarket Service ManualAftermarket Wiring HarnessSpare used gauges, wiring harness, and Amal carburetors (for parts)New decalsChain guard and spare handlebarA box of various new and used parts (rubber parts, nuts, bolts, etc.)While the Trident is clean and runs, it has been sitting and does need a few things before it will be a reliable road machine again. Known issues include:Small oil drip from bottom of engine, appears to be from oil pan gasket.Front brake cable needs to be replaced. It is too short and doesn't allow for full engagement of the front brake.Tachometer has recently stopped working.Carbs should be tuned. Idle is occasionally high.Battery needs to be replaced.
