Vehicle Detail

NO RESERVE ON THIS AUCTION Engine: 4 cyl Iron Duke 2.5 liter 151 CID 92 hpTransmission: 4 speed manualManual Sunroofelectric windows, electric side mirrors, electric pop up headlightsAC is ineffective - it runs but does nothing to cool the air This is a 33 year old GM car with a salvage title. Plastic is faded and generally brittle. There are cracks in the plastic dash and a couple cigarette burn marks on the passenger seat. Going over bumps, it rattles, vibrates, and shakes. It has a slow oil drip. Don’t expect the comfort or reliability of a Honda or Toyota. It has seldom been driven over the past 10 years. If you are looking for a daily driver, expect a lot of inconveniences before you replace all the weak links of the chain. All sales are final, no warrantee or guarantee. It stalls easily when it is cold, after it warms up, it runs fine. If you start it weekly, the battery is fine. If you don't start it for 2 weeks, the battery is weak. I expect this is due to the electrical drain from the radio, Original transmission failed, I replaced it with another salvaged 4 speed. Hagerty's lists the range for ’84 Fieros to be $5,700 for excellent condition to $3,200 good condition, to $1,700 fair condition. I'd put the condition somewhere between good and fair. www dot hagerty dot com /apps /valuationtools /1984-Pontiac-Fiero (eBay will not allow a website link in this ad. So copy/paste the Hagerty website address into your browser and change the dots and remove the spaces to see Hagerty's valuation). More Negatives… Salvage title - It was abandoned on an out of state flatbed trailer left in a warehouse-no title, no plates. Seats, interior parts, exterior trim, battery were missing. Someone used a forklift to put it up on the flatbed. I went through the legal process and got it registered with the salvaged title, got it running and smogged. I frequented wrecking yards each month, looking for parts. Decided I liked the '85 nose better than the '84, so tossed the broken '84 nose and put on a '85 Paint is shot, with some peeling on the fender and rear bumper. Mileage is about 132K. The gauges generally work. I added a vacuum gauge that occasionally drops to zero - I haven't had the time to troubleshoot it. On the plus side, cleantires have good tread battery replaced 6 months agoreplaced starter this yearreplaced the windshield 5 years ago so it is not pitted or scratchedoil, brake fluid, air filter, and oil filter recently changedit was on non-op for a couple years, then re-registered this summer when it passed smog tests this July ‘17a few extra gauges mountedwink mirror for added visibility If you want it, I’ll throw in an extra rough condition front hood that I bought with the expectation that I’d repaint it and add a scoop to it-but too many projects I really like this car-I rescued it from the crusher and put in a lot of hours wrenching it back to health. It is fun to drive. However too may projects and not enough time…so time to find a better home for it.
