1965 Ford Mustang Vin: 5R07C206598 Project Car.I purchased this Mustang October 2009 form a seller in CA. I got to the point of taking it apart and started putting it back together but I haven't touched it in months. The Mustang is a solid car with ALL parts included. New Transmission and engine. This Mustang is complete! I have the original listing from the previous seller. Lots of new parts included. This Mustang is now registered in Texas. Has a Clean title and has been garage kept since I’ve owned it in Texas. I have all records of this Mustang since second owner. Mustang was originally made in the San Jose Plant and was kept in CA before I bought it. All small parts, nuts and bolts are bagged and labeled. Built At The San Jose Plant April 06, 1965. Wimbledon White, Pony Interior. This is a super solid rust free Mustang with a huge lot of new parts including new rebuilt motor, new rebuilt C4 transmission. I bought this from a widowed neighbor with the intention to do a full restoration but lost my job and am forced to sell unfortunately. Her husband was the 2nd owner and bought this in 1971 here in town. The mileage I documented from receipts found in the car and found it is original. Some interior trim not pictured is complete and in great shape, the drivers seat back I removed to work on but only removed old cover, frame and listings are in great shape. Floor pans are solid, lower seat frame assemblies are in great shape. The passenger door has a small rust hole located in lower forward corner but included is a rust free door from a 1966 Mustang. The glass is all original and in incredible condition, there is no pitting or cracks. Ford OEM dash pad, steering wheel both great condition. Motor and new parts I'll list below. Motor - The original 289 block was cracked and couldn't locate a good 289 core so I settled with a 302 block. The original crank was ground .10 over and used in the build. The orginal rods had ARP rod bolts installed and resized .10 over and used in the build. Clevite 77 bearings and ARP main bolts were used. Mellings high volume oil pump & pickup were used. Flat top hypereutectic pistons with speed pro plasma moly rings were used. New cam bearings were installed. Cam installed is a new hydraulic flat tappet specs: .472 Int. .496 Ex. Advertised Duration 280 Int. 290 Ex. - New hydraulic anti-pump lifters were installed. New Comp Cams roller timing set was used. New brass freeze plugs were installed as well. Heads - The original 289 heads were used. New brass guides & hardened seats were installed. Guides were cut for PC seals and rocker studs were pulled & tapped for screw in studs. ARP rocker studs were installed. All new valves were installed in head assembly. New Comp Cams Valve springs were installed for up to .550 lift and Crane valve locks were used. New Comp Cams pushrods & New Comp Cams Magnum Roller rockers were used. Brass freeze plugs were installed. ARP head bolts were used. Edelbrock Performer RPM manifold with ARP bolts, New water pump with ARP bolts, Mallory Unilte Distributor with ARP bolt, Edelbrock Elite Valve covers with ARP studs, New Performance Products harmonic balancer with ARP fastener, Exhaust Manifolds (Not Pictured) have been bead blasted and black ceramic coated and look like new, Remanufactured Autolite Alternator ARP bolts used. Wiring harness is all there and all good, I think it was replace due to the nice condition but its all Fomoco parts. The Grill & Horns I had painted and look new, The Fog Light Bars & Lights are very nice all Fomoco the bulbs are Blue NOS GE correct part number. The Dash Pad Is OEM Ford but had to be dyed Aqua due to the color not being available OEM, The Gauges all work and look near new & steering wheel is very nice for the age. There is really too much to list and I'm sure that something was forgot. Title is clear and in hand, it is a California Black Plate car and I have both F&R plates.
