1997 TOYOTA CAMRY LE Current Mileage – 194,045 Miles Whats wrong with the car? (Lets get these out of the way) Dings/Dents/Scratches from normal use (Brand New Professional Paint – Feb 2017 w/5 year warranty) Driver door window does not work in extreme cold or hot weather (Turn the car off and on and it will work again). This window motor has been replaced three times and the problem still persists. Not sure what the problem is. In normal weather conditions it works fine – no issues. Backup camera is installed (but does not work – loose connection) GPS Navigation is installed (Antenna is inside so signal is weak – easy to relocate the antenna) The Driver Door Switches are really worn out (please see last picture) – this is the original part, hence the age. Meticulously maintained. All fluids were changed per manufacturing guidelines like clockwork. Always used Full Synthetic Motor Oil. Following services were done @190K -Engine oil change (always used synthetic even though conventional is ok) - (This car has a FRAM SureDrain oil plug installed – this makes life easy while changing engine oil) -Transmission flush (Filter changed @180K) -Brake Fluid flush - Tire rotation - Air filter City Mileage is about 19 MPG, Highway Mileage is about 33 MPG. What can I say – It’s a Toyota. Its built like a tank. This model is one of the best Toyota Designs, easy to work on and cheap replacement parts – makes the cost of ownership really low. It has all metallic components. Newer cars have mostly plastic components. I hate to let this go, but we need to move on. They sure are not making cars like this anymore. Keep up with regular fluid changes and regular maintenance this car will hum along till 400,000 miles. Please bring License and Proof of insurance for a test drive.
