Offered for sale is my 1975 Honda Gold Wing GL1000. 1975 was the first year that Honda sold the Gold Wing in the United States. The bike is NOT absolutely original but it is in excellent condition. The paint is mostly original, the only body parts I had painted were the radiator “wings”. The bike has undergone an extensive rebuild which included the items listed below, there may have been more work done that I do not remember. The engine runs strong with just the usual 30 seconds of smoke at startup. The following recommended modifications/Improvements have been made. 1. Bypassing of the Reserve lighting unit. 2. Disconnection of the ever troublesome handle bar kill switch. This bike would be a great addition to a collection or would make a great daily rider. So as they say in Louisiana bid early and often. LIGHTING AND ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: New tail light assembly with new bulb Polished and plated tail light mounting bracket New headlight rim Cleaned and resecured all electrical connectors Replaced neutral switch CARBURETORS: Correct 1975 Carb set sourced and rebuilt with Randakk's rebuild kit, including recommended modification of idle air jet New air cleaner Carb tops and manifolds polished Carbs synchronized Replaced carb and manifold fasteners Polished and plated carb connector plates EXHAUST SYSTEM: New copper exhaust gaskets New muffler gaskets Repaired and repainted muffler as necessary Polished chrome trim pieces COOLING SYSTEM: Replaced all hoses and hose clamps Replaced all seals and o-rings Replaced thermostat Replaced fan switch Inspected and painted radiator and mounting parts Renewed coolant IGNITION SYSTEM: Installed Dyna electronic ignition system New spark plug boots New spark plugs Timing set dynamically ENGINE: New timing belts New timing belt tension springs Replaced all external engine oil seals, including shift shaft, both camshaft seals, crankshaft seal etc. Oil and filter Adjusted valve clearances Polished valve covers and cam belt covers BRAKES: Rebuilt front calipers with new seals and pistons Installed Galfer stainless steel reinforced front brake lines New rear brake line FRAME AND CHASSIS: New front and rear tires installed and balanced Fenders polished and protective undercoating installed on undersides Touched up paint on frame and accessories New hinge pins and support wires for shelter sides Fabricated and installed new seat grab rail Installed period correct aftermarket windscreen Polished and plated rear brake pedal Renewed rear end lubricant Renewed fuel tank sending unit gasket
