Vehicle Detail

1999 Toyota Camry LE 219K - Two Tone White Sunroof Leather*NJ Inspection sticker good through 12/2018* I bought this Camry with approx. 85,000 miles on it and it has performed EXTREMELY well on long road trips, commutes to work and every day driving. Even to this day the engine has run smooth and has never failed on me - if you know the reputation of this generation Camry, you’ll need no convincing!! I’m only selling because of a recent opportunity I had for a newer car through someone I know (otherwise I’d keep it and do the repairs, which have ALWAYS been worth it due to its reliability). The Good:Same owner for 10+ yearsThis car has been extremely reliable the entire time I’ve owned itIt gets very good gas mileageIt cruises comfortably on the highway, gears shift normal and the 2.2L 4 Cyl. engine still has great acceleration ALL electronics work: power lock/unlock door buttons, power mirrors, power windows, power seats, sunroof, air conditioning, dash dimmer, glove compartment light, overhead light, front & rear lights, etc.Stereo replaced (Kenwood, as pictured) and comes with unused remote controlAnd most importantly, this Camry has been well maintained and repairs done when needed (example: timing belt replaced @ 172k; shifter control cable replaced approx. 2 years ago; original gas tank replaced approx. 1 year ago; all other maintenances…)The car starts right up and drives fine, like it always does, BUT this Camry now needs some repairs… read detailed description for more info. The Not So Good:The check engine light came on approx 1 month ago According to repair shop, this is due to faulty catalytic converters (I noticed an inconsistent vibration when stopped / idling at a traffic light, otherwise it’s smooth and quiet when accelerating); *Note: the car runs quiet since most of the exhaust was recently replaced (see pictures), but the catalytic converters were not. This is something most exhaust shops should be able to handle, but not sure of repair costs where you are.The shop also advised that the radiator has a slow leak and will need replacing soonThe rear brakes/rotors also need to be replacedOther Observations / Things to Know:Speakers: The stock speakers still have GREAT sound, BUT only (3) of them work; the right rear speaker does not work (a while ago I accidentally yanked the wire out of place when putting something into the trunk)Gas Tank Door/Opener: the lever by driver seat works fine, BUT the gas tank door won’t stay open unless a gas attendant is pulling on it while you hold the lever up; *Note: the door opener is VERY loose since one of the hinges broke (it closes okay, but it’s fragile and probably needs to have the broken hinge fixed)Keyless Remote: does NOT work; to unlock car have to first open door manually with key (then press power unlock door button); original key was broken, so car comes with (2) spare keys that work fineTrunk: only opens using lever by driver seat; does NOT open with key Front Passenger Side Corner Lamp/Body: damaged due to minor impact (see picture); blinker/hazard light works fine but the whole piece needs to be replaced. *Note: new replacement lamp is INCLUDED with the car (see picture)Lower Front Grill: cracked in multiple places; quick-fixed with zip ties (see picture)Emergency Brake: for a long time, this has NOT worked (not sure why, I kind of forgot about it and only remembered now by looking at these pictures... ha! )Carpets/Mats: overall okay, but need to be cleaned; various spots over the years (see pictures)** See pictures for any cosmetic imperfections ***Note: You are bidding on an 18+ year old car, so PLEASE zoom in on pictures to see the condition. For example, pictures show the original Toyota wheels are very worn (note: the center caps pictured separately may not fit due to broken connectors), some rust marks above rear license plate area, some rust in corner of roof, some spider-web type lines/wear on the trunk and rear bumper, various other spots, minor dents, small rust spots, etc... To me, even with all the minor exterior imperfections, overall this Camry still presents itself well for a car of this age. ** Vehicle is sold AS IS **I did my best to be upfront about everything I know and provide numerous pictures (everything pictured in vehicle is what you can expect to receive upon pickup). As stated, in it's current condition the car starts right up and drives fine, like it always does, BUT this Camry now needs some repairs for it to be at 100%. Buyer understands there are no guarantees given the vehicle's age, and accepts that vehicle is sold in AS IS condition...Please ask any specific questions through eBay before bidding. Thanks!
