Vehicle Detail
For auction is a 1921 Dodge Brothers Touring car that runs & drives. These "Dependable Dodges" as they were known, were some of the finest built cars of the 20s! This car came out of a museum in Missouri and the previous owner liked the burgundy fenders, but they are simple to remove and paint to your liking. This car been fully restored & repainted, rebuilt motor, transmission, roof and interior. All fluids have been changed. The car starts right up and drives down the road well. Has very large & solid wooden wheels that were cleaned and are tight. Good 33 x 4 rubber tires & tubes with a good spare. No bondo in car! The interior upholstery was redone just as original and is comfortable. The original wooden floorboards with carpeting look good. Two small roof repairs but otherwise in perfect shape. The top folds down and locks into the original roof clamps on each side. All lights work and all gauges are functional. Good low oil pressure and functional Dodge Bros speedometer. Horn is there but just not hooked up yet. The engine is clean and the car got aluminum pistons when rebuilt. The oil pan was cleaned and new gaskets installed including an oil pump rebuild with new seals. The timing chain was inspected and is factory tight. Has an original Detroit Lubricator carburetor and good vacuum canister. Gas tank is clean. Good working water-pump and radiator. The old car does drip oil like all 20's cars- they mark their territory. This is a solid example of a rarer make of automobile, you can putter around in this all day. Has a 3-speed manual transmission. The brakes work as good as any 1920s car and the hand-brake doesn’t hold too well. Has a little play in the steering, but that can be tightened. Clean title in my name. Winner to pay $500 non-refundable deposit by check or postal money order and balance due within a week or so. Cash is preferred but cashier’s checks are fine with clearance time. Please ask any questions. Two videos are available on youtube.com, type in 21DodgeBros1 or 21DodgeBros2 to view.
