Vehicle Detail

For sale is my 2009 Porsche 911 Carrera. 997.2 model. White with gray leather interior. PDK transmission. Bose sound with XM radio. Upgraded 19" Carrera S wheels. Continental Extreme Contact all-season tires with >50% tread left on front and rear. The 997.2 is superior to the 997.1 in many ways, but the biggest asset is that the reliability issues of the 997.1 (and 996) were worked out with the .2. This includes no IMS bearing failures or bore scoring. Other changes were facelift, upgraded interior with better finish (and better leather), improved suspension etc....see detailed review at end of listing...there is a reason the .2 value has held, while the previous version is following the same fate as the 996. Just serviced within the last month/100 miles with new battery installed as well. Carfax included for proof of 60k mile service at Porsche Plano performed last year. I also have thî Carfax from when I purchased the car last year showing all service records, or at least most of them. New rock guards installed. Leather and interior are in very good condition. Minor imperfections from normal use (see pictures of seats and console). No tears or severe wearing of the leather at all. There is minor wear to the bolster on the drivers seat ... it is not torn and the leather is not separated; it is more like a scratch. The center console has minor nicks and scratches (which is common for a center console on any car), but this has held up much much better than on my old 996.Paint is in very good condition. Normal imperfections for an 8 year old car that was driven. No major dings/dents, except for one small rash on lower driver rear fender. It was there when I purchased the car (I think they scratched it in transport...not sure). Nonetheless, it is low on the fender and does not take away from the overall appearance at all. My price does reflect the vehicle imperfections, so please don't attempt to haggle me about this! PPI is welcomed at your expense, but again, car was just serviced. There at very few of these Carreras for sale right now, and there is not one listed like this with a lower price anywhere that I can find. With that being said, please no low ball offers! I realize this is ebay, but I just had someone offer me $800 for my Breitling! I have lowered the price and taken away the best offer option as the current buy it now price is my "bottom." Please do not ask me to go any lower, as stated earlier, this is the most aggressively priced 997.2 around. I will ask for a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold vehicle. If you plan to finance, I will refund you the money once funds in full have been obtained. Reason for sale is that I am moving on to another venture. Title is with bank (USAA), but is very easy to transfer even if you plan to finance. I have done this many times without issue. Will assist with shipping if you choose to go that route. Please email with any questions, or if additional pictures are requested. Thanks for looking. Comparison"Compared to the Gen-1, the Gen-2 car is a serious all-round improvement. This assumes both cars are left as standard. Some examples:EngineThe DFI engine is much stronger, both in terms of longevity and performance. The engine design was completely new for the Gen-2 and addressed all the known weaknesses of the M96/7 engines. The crankcase halves are now made from alusil and the bores are part of the main casting. The bore tops are also 'closed-deck' which eliminates the chunking and going-out-of round that could happen to the the bores of the earlier engines. The intermediate shaft and all its attendant extra chains and moving parts are eliminated. The separate steel crankshaft block (the misalignment of which was responsible for the rear oil seal issues that plagued the M96/7) is similarly no longer used. Performance-wise, the new engine pulls harder from lower in the rpm range and hits a torque 'plateau' at about 4000rpm which stays relatively flat until about 6000 rpm. This gives stronger performance right across the rpm band with none of the obvious torque 'holes' that the earlier engine suffers from. Together with the PDK transmission, the new car is significantly faster than the Gen-1 but you do lose some driver involvement compared to the manual.InteriorThe PCM3 is a step-change from the PCM2. Also very noticeable is a big improvement in the quality of some of the materials used in the interior, particularly the leather for the seats which is much harder wearing. SuspensionThe PASM suspension was overhauled for the Gen-2. The result is a much better damped car - in particular the underdamped 'floatiness' is gone from the front end, as is the mid-corner 'corkscrewing' motion that you can sometimes feel in the Gen-1. Grip, turn-in, and mid-corner stability are all improved and the Gen-2 doesn't understeer as much as the Gen-1."
