This is a 2003 Dodge Ram Quad Cab with a Cummins Diesel Engine. This one is for the Cummins 5.9L engine enthusiast. The truck has seen normal use and has never been abused. It has always been a solid and dependable truck. But at 174k miles, the engine cracked a #5 exhaust valve edge resulting in an engine miss and rough idle. The cylinder head was rebuilt and remachined and a new head gasket set was installed. All new fuel injectors were installed at the same time. The injectors had never been replaced before this. A new turbocharger was also installed. Engine much more powerful after these repairs. Cost for the above repairs was about $5000. Vehicle has been sitting in a garage for 3 years and driven very little. Just no longer have a use for a large pickup truck to do any hauling of any sort. We had downsized to a Jeep Cherokee. New Cooper Discoverer tires. Probably only 500 miles on them. The muffler was replaced with a straight exhaust pipe so the exhaust is louder than normal. The original fuel filter was replaced with the Air Dog fuel system. Because of the age and mileage of the vehicle, it should go a Cummins enthusiast that is comfortable tinkering with things like the injectors. Alternative is to simply trade it in.
