2005 Lincoln Aviator SUV AWD Tri-Color Metallic AS-IS RUNS & DRIVES, DAILY DRIVER! LUXURY PACKAGE 2005 with Chrome Rims, Sun Roof, Heated Seats, Power Windows, Navigation (After-market Pioneer unit), Remote Starter w/ Kill switch. 145,000 miles mostly highway. This seats 6-7 people with smaller cargo space or 4 with the back set down for extra cargo. This car has been extremely reliable for the last 10 years I have had it. I still use it as a daily driver and it hasn't failed me, but I am ready to upgrade. With that said it does have some issues (detailed below) and a few some marks/nicks around the body. For that reason I am selling AS-IS, cheap. Repeat, the car is being sold AS-IS and may have other issues aside from those detailed below. This car could be a decent daily driver for a few more years or a second car to haul cargo. It could last another 2 years in present condition (no warranty implied) or longer if you want to fix some of the issues yourself. The Good:Reliable car- only had to replace O2 sensors and regular maintenance for the life of the car. No other major mechanical work was ever needed.AC still blows coldColor- Tri-Color Metallic was a coveted color on this modelSeats 6-7Sound system sounds good for a factory set of speakers/subComes with the upgraded chrome wheelsAWD, the car has made it through numerous blizzardsNo Accident RecordAside from the nicks and marks, the paint still in good condition and shines looks newer than the age of carCar is aligned, probably could use tire balance/rotationRemote Start, great for cold winters. Kill Switch as a anti-theft option.4.6L DOHC V8 used in some mustangsA True Luxury SUV without the bulk of the Navigator The Bad: This has a bunch of the common issues with Aviators, as well as some other known defects which I am detailing here. This is not to be taken as a full or official list of issues!!There is a steady oil drop, not sure if it just needs a new oil pan plug or is something more. One time the plug dropped out so it may be a simple fix. I currently fill it with oil every so often and it runs as it always has.Timing chain rattle will appear if oil gets low. Once you refill it goes away. Extremely common issue on Aviators/Explorers of this era. Been driving this way for 3 years without issue.Once in a while the check engine light with p0420 code will get thrown. Haven't done anything about it since the car drives fine.Passenger right door lock switch stopped working The rear top tailgate lock release mechanism is loose and doesn't relock like it should. I don't use, keep it always locked and just use the full hatch release instead.Also the back tailgate has the exterior line down the center like most AviatorsThe tire pressure sensors are never accurate Front cigarette lighter is not workingCarpet could use deep clean shampooPaint has some chips, small to medium scratches, and nicks on the rear bumper corners and by the wheel wellsState inspection expired 5/31/17 (fyi- PA has possibility for waiver on emissions inspection and/or is only needed for metro areas)Overall the car is great if you need something nice looking and reliable that can carry people plus cargo that is AWD. We use this as a daily driver with all the present defects listed and it hasn't failed us once. It's a reliable luxury vehicle- we drive it back and forth to the Poconos regularly, as well as attached loads to the rear back and forth over 200 miles. Clean PA title in hand.
