Up for auction is a 2003 Civic EX coupe with 5 speed manual transmission. This car is a MECHANIC'S SPECIAL and needs work so bid accordingly. First the good:smooth & slick shifting manual transmission just like you'd expect on a HondaA/C and other accessories minus the passenger's power door lock worksolid body with minimal rust for it's ageinterior is in Good to Very Good conditionmoonroofside airbagsrecent 4 wheel brake jobless than 4K on a matched set of 4 Yokohamanew radiator & waterpump low actual miles for the yearclean Carfax w/ NO recorded accidents Now the Bad:engine overheats if driven for more than about 50 miles. I suspect either a leaking head gasket or possibly a cracked head. pretty strong ammonia-like smell when the car has be closed up for awhile or parked in the sun. Possibly related to the overheating problem?all gauges in cluster are malfunctioning except for the odometer which reads properlyinstalled hood is from a salvage yard & still needs finish sanding and paint. This auction includes the original hood so you can reuse the small trim partsneeds a new batteryTakata airbag recall has NOT been completed yet This car runs but should not be considered "drivable" at this time. Between the overheating problem and the fact that the gas gauge reads Full all the time, I personally wouldn't trust it for more than a few miles from home until properly repaired. I'm confident that someone with the proper skills can get this car back on the road without spending a lot of money. Absolute worst-case scenario, complete salvage engines for these cars only run about $750 and are easy to find. Terms:$250 "good faith" payment via PayPal due within 24 hours of Auction close. Balance due at pick-up needs to be cash (strongly preferred) or else a cashier's check drawn on a bank that has a local branch in zipcode 46143. No personal checks or money orders accepted. Final payment can also be made by PayPal too but please add 2.5% to cover their fees. Vehicle must be picked up on or before 5/21/2017. After that date a storage fee of $35 per day will be charged. I will be happy to deliver this vehicle a maximum of 150 miles from the zipcode above for an additional cost of $60 + $1.10 per mile one-way. EXAMPLE: the fee to deliver a distance of 87 miles from my home would be: $60 + $1.10*87 = $155.70. This vehicle is advertised locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early until the first bid has been made. If someone has already made an opening bid, then local buyers will be directed to this auction and they will need to bid along with everyone else.
