Vehicle Detail
Here we have the 356 project you have been waiting for, a real matching numbers SC! Chassis 219165 retains it's original motor number 812620, and can be verified by the scan of the original Factory Kardex, see pics. The car was originally color code 6404, Light Ivory, and it is still in that color today, though the paint is very tired and primed in places, plan on a full repaint. What makes this project so great, other than it's a matching numbers SC, is that the previous owner did lots of the heavy lifting in the restoration, replacing the floors, battery box, etc. The original motor is bolted in and turns over nicely by hand. The outer body has also had some work done on it, you can see spots of primer here and there, and there is body filler on the car. You will want to have your body man go over the car before paint, but once again the hard work is done. The SC was the fastest and most refined 356 there ever was, this is as good as it gets in terms of engine power and disc brakes. Many collectors say the SC Coupe in their collection is the one that gets the most exercise because it was the best 356 ever built. Next time you are at a 356 gathering notice how many SC Coupes you see, and you will agree with me. While there has been a lot of work done on this car there is still metal work to be done, but like I said, the hard stuff is done. Don't miss out! I am a 356 and Early 911S Registry member with an eBay Feedback Rating of 100%, so bid with confidence. Please ask any and all questions, they will be answered quickly and honestly.
