1979 Honda CR250 Elsinore in very, very good unrestored condition. I have been holding onto this one for a long time, it is my favorite vintage MX bike I have ever owned and it is the last one to leave. It has not been ridden in at least seven years and it sits just as it was after the last time I rode it. This bike has always been garaged. I have a clear CA title (pink slip), but it is not currently registered. This bike is mostly original with some improvements, I am the second owner. This CR250 has very low hours on it. The story I got from the original owner--it came from a cache of old CR250's that were discovered in some forgotten warehouse and were sold new-in-the-crate by Lemon Grove Honda many years after these were considered "obsolete". I remember when this ad was run in the local newspaper--and I should have bought one! The cylinder is almost perfect-no broken fins, the chrome liner looks almost new. I installed new rings and reeds when I bought it just for good measure. The bike runs, rides and shifts perfectly. I installed a '82 CR250 front end that works much better than the stock forks. More plush, no flexing like the stockers, and it is legal for vintage racing. If you prefer, I will take these off and put the stock front end back on--which is also in great condition but works nothing like the newer forks. The bike has a DG silencer and a Pro Form Racing pipe in perfect condition (which has better mid-range than the stock pipe and makes the bike easier to ride or race as it does not have the anemic mid-range and vicious top end hit of the stock pipe). Works Performance aluminum body shocks are on the rear end. There are no dents in the tank, no visible cracks in the plastics, perfect seat, no weird replacement nuts and bolts, no backyard repairs or welding work, frame is straight with no cracked welds.
