1948 CJ2A Jeep Project. Tub/Body Number: 16474, Data Plate Number: 174480. Virginia Title VIN J187026, this is the old engine number. I have a few more pictures of this project if needed. I purchased this Jeep as an unfinished project. The previous owner rebuilt the engine. It appears to be a good rebuild as I have seen machine work done on the cylinder bores. Lots of new, rebuilt or refurbished parts. The chassis as pictured is in, mostly, like new condition. I rebuilt the transmission and transfer case. The transmission has all new parts. The transfer case has new shafts, bearings and seals. Completely new brake system, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, shoes and tubing. New tires. Cleaned and inspected the complete axles. Did replace one front hub due to a spun bearing. The frame is an OEM replacement frame according to the previous owner. Striped and repaired the tub.Replaced a large section of the floor under the driver side. Replace the floor under the passenger side.Repaired some hat channels underneath. Also replace some small section on both the driver side and passengers side. The tub was in nice condition to star with. It does have a pair of long, but not deep, dents where the spare tire mounts. Some deep pitting is spots on the rear floor. The body currently has surface rust. Lots of parts included, some new, some refurbished and some in need of work.All body parts are there except a few footman loops. You get the old parts as well. Major parts need to finish the project are, paint, radiator, carburetor, glass, gauges,and exhaust system. Governor handle is not include in this auction. If you see a governor handle in one of the pictures it is not included in this auction. It will be listed in an other auction.
