Vehicle Detail

The winner of my original auction was unresponsive so I'm relisting this: Selling my 4Runner with a leaky head gasket: The good: It's a California/Texas car so there is virtually no rust. Just a few surface spots, but the frame and body are very solid. The transmission shifts perfectly. No accidents as far as I can tell (VIN matches on all doors, body lines/ reveal on door openings looks perfect, no accident reports on carfax). Upgraded hood with non-functional scoop. The suspension is in good shape currently. It has roof racks and a tow package (no hitch included). Full size spare is in decent shape and the original jack equipment is included. All features are fully functional, these include, power windows/locks (rear window works too), power moon roof ( I think that what you call the one that tilts up and slides back to fully open), power mirrors, dual airbags (untested), overdrive, ECT for higher rpm shift pattern, tape deck, 3 disk changer (actually never checked this for functionality) New parts- August '16- OEM timing belt/water pump, October '16- Koyorad radiator, Raybestos premium pads and rotors December '16 - Battery with 3 year warranty, Genco starter, January '17- heater valve,Both rear wheel bearings and seals have been replaced with the drum brakes being cleaned and inspected during the service(one in August '16 and the other in mid '15).The repairs/maintenance done in the last 6 months total about $1,600 in parts and labor. The bad: -The head gasket leaks. When I was driving it I had to add coolant weekly to keep it from getting too low. I thought about adding some of that head gasket sealant but have heard that it can clog up cooling ports and the heater core so I didn't. I bought a newer truck instead. But I have a feeling that the guy I bought it from in March '16 may have used some to facilitate the sale. Aside from all this the motor still runs strong. I haven't noticed any loss of power and it's never overheated on me. -The odometer has been replaced or tampered with at some point. Based on the carfax and the few service records available when I bought it, I figure the current mileage is 305,000. -The body does have some scratches and dings. It looks like its been rubbed up on some brush at some point. -The clear coat on the roof has been baked off in the Texas/Cali sun. -The carpet is pretty clean, but the leather upholstery is aged and torn in several spots on the front passenger seat. Also, most of the plastic coating on the interior wood veneer is peeling off. This may be a solid project truck or good deal for the mechanically inclined. I had been planning to upgrade to a truck that I could run construction jobs out of before I diagnosed the head gasket leak, so I didn't want to put money into. I do know that the HG replacement job is rated for 12 hrs. So for a shop with a labor rate of $60/hr you'd be looking at $720/labor, ~$420/ parts for the premium HG kit or ~$220 for the off brand, and a budget for incidentals to have it done. I talked with my local mechanic about it who does quality work and he estimated $1,200-$1,400 for everything. The last thing I'll add is I think the heater core is partially clogged. I hear a trickling behind the dash when the heat is on. From what a mechanic has told me it's probably some clogging in the heater core. The heat and air conditioning both work great though. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS. I have the vehicle for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction at any time before 12hrs from the auction ending time. Thanks for looking! On Feb-24-17 at 16:40:43 PST, seller added the following information: ATTENTION : I forgot to note in my original listing that this vehicle will need a new windshield. It's still in one piece but has a 2 long cracks and a stone chip. These are at the very bottom and passenger side. They don't affect driver visibility but it should be replaced.
