Vehicle Detail
Greetings to all! Up for auction is my 1998 BMW Z3 roadster. Adult owned since new, this roadster has very low mileage for an almost 20 year old vehicle. Less than 2,200 miles per year! I purchased this BMW in 2007 and have serviced it myself (former automotive technology instructor) following the BMW guidelines. Equipped with the reliable 1.9 liter, 16 valve engine and 5 speed transmission, there's plenty of fun miles for the new owner. Drop the top and hit the highway, it will deliver mid 30's MPG, around town expect mid 20's. A fun and economical car to own. The exterior paint is still bright and shiny and the stone chips and dings are at a minimum for a car this age. The interior leather is still soft and supple but there is a small wear spot on the driver side bolster (see photo). The top remains in good condition and the rear window has clouded slightly with time. Perhaps one of the commercial cleaners could remove it but it's never bothered me since I hardly ever have the top up! All options and features work as they should, the AC has a very slow leak which a can of R-134A every two years seems to cure. All of the manuals (and original window sticker, MSRP $32,540) are present with the vehicle as well as the top boot. It's riding on an almost new set of Kumho Ecsta ASX tires with plenty of tread life remaining. The factory alloy wheels are free of "curb rash". Also, it's never seen snow as it's stored covered in a heated garage during the winters here in the northeast and the only time it gets wet is when it's getting washed (by hand, of course).
