Vehicle Detail
I have owned this motorcycle for 5 years and rode it once a week or so around the neighborhood to keep it healthy. I bought the bike from a guy who showed me $9000 in receipts from the restoration. It is not a museum piece but it is in very fine condition. Most parts appear as new except for the seat and some discoloration in the headers. It leaks a little oil around the spark plugs and has some minor wear in the center of the seat. I just put a new battery and rear tire on the bike within the last few months. The points and condensers were replaced with an electronic ignition during restoration, otherwise the bike is in original condition. I replaced the headlamp a year ago, it was hard to find but it was new original stock and cost me over $100. The engine runs great after warming up but is a little rough when cold. The starter works off and on, when it works it turns the engine easily and it fires right up. I assume this is the starter solenoid since the starter clearly turns the engine with ease. The odometer shows around 10,000 miles but I'm sure it was changed. I have a box with some spare parts and a service manual. I used to race flat track on one of these in the 60s and I tore up the competition on newer bikes with it. It is a fine piece of history and deserves a good home. It turns heads and sparks conversation every time I ride it. Its been sitting more than it should the last few months so its time to find a new home. I will help load the bike after the new owner selects a shipper or it can be picked up locally in the Austin Texas area. I am trying to do my best to represent the actual condition of the bike. It just passed its 50th birthday so no warranty or guarantee is implied or given. Come to Georgetown TX and inspect it before the auction ends if you want to get a first hand look at it. You won't be disappointed. The photo is Steve McQueen on one like it in the 60s. I am not asserting that it is the same bike he had. On Feb-14-17 at 07:37:00 PST, seller added the following information: Further look into the bikes current issues reveal that the speedometer is not working correctly (there is another one included - see photos) and some fluid residue on one of the forks. On Feb-17-17 at 07:28:20 PST, seller added the following information: I am uploading a video of a ride on the bike on YouTube. Search MrDucatiZombie on YouTube to find it. The bike has all new wiring and cables. The deposit should be placed within 48 hours and full payment within 4 days of the auction ending. I would expect cash or cashier's check. I'll give you the title when you pick up the bike. I can store the bike for a week or two if needed. The reserve is low so expect to win the auction if you bid.On Feb-17-17 at 08:11:11 PST, seller added the following information: YouTube Link: https://youtu.be/DTPWEfzBTA8
