Vehicle Detail

I have for sale my 1968 Dodge Charger project car. This is without a doubt one of the most solid second generation (1968, 1969 or 1970) project chargers that you will ever find. This car has very minimal rust. I bought the car from a gentleman that drove it to high school back in the late 80’s and began a restoration in the mid-90’s. This car was completely taken apart and sandblasted back in the late 90’s (minus hood, deck lid and driver’s fender) top and bottom. Shortly after the blasting, the gentleman lost interest and it sat bare steel in his climate controlled garage (thank goodness) under a car cover for the last 20 years. At the photobucket link below you will see a bunch of pics of this car in bare steel. Can’t hide bad body work or rust when the car is bare steel. The rust on the chassis of this car is limited to the trunk pan, 3 half-dollar size spots around the driver’s rear wheel, the right rear valance extension, and 2 pinky finger size spots in the lower corners of the back glass, that’s it! You simply cannot find these cars with a chassis this solid anymore. There is also a pencil size spot of rust on the back of the decklid and a half-dollar size spot underneath the hood. The bare steel pics say it all, take a look at the photobucket link for yourself and you’ll see how nice this chassis is. This car was originally a 383 2bbl car with an automatic transmission. The original drivetrain is long gone, but the car does come with a forged crank 440 with automatic transmission. The engine was also bare metal and I shot the hemi orange paint on it to stabilize it as I did the black primer on the car. The engine will need to be torn down and rebuilt. The crank and pistons are not in the motor but included and the heads are bare castings. A great foundation for a performance build up. As you can see by the pics, the car is largely complete. All glass but the windshield is present although the door glasses do have some etching from the blasting and will need to be professionally polished. Undoubtedly, there are probably some parts and pieces that are missing but certainly it is largely a complete project car with all the major parts and pieces present. If you are looking for a project charger and all you can find are $15,000 rust buckets…this may be the car for you. You’ll save tons of money by not needing to replace quarter panels, floor pans, or the rear valance or repairing major rear glass rust repair. At the photobucket site, you will find over 650 pics of this car with multiple pics of just about every square inch of the car. The wheels and tires on the car ARE NOT INCLUDED in this auction. It will be sold with a set of roller wheels and tires. I have a clean, clear and up-to-date Oklahoma title for this car in my name. Please, look at all the provided pics at the link below before bidding. The pics are very representative of the cars condition. Please, ask all questions prior to bidding. Thank you. There are an additional 650 plus pics of the car at the following link: http://s869.photobucket.com/user/sridenour/library/1968%20Dodge%20Charger%20383%202bbl%20Auto PAYMENT INFORMATION: The car is sold as is, no warranty implied or offered. The successful bidder is required to send a $1000 nonrefundable deposit within 24 hours of the end of auction via PayPal (other methods may be used if discussed and agreed upon prior to bidding!). If you are not able or willing to meet these criteria, please do not bid until you have discussed options with me. The balance of the auction is due in full within 7 days of the end of the auction. I prefer PayPal (for the deposit ONLY) and an electronic funds transfer for the balance. I will not accept PayPal for payment of the balance except under special circumstances that must be agreed on prior to bidding. I’ll accept other forms of payment such as certified bank check or cashier’s check for the balance, but all funds must clear my bank prior to release of the car. I would like the car picked up within 30 days of the end of the auction. The buyer is solely responsible for arranging the pickup of the car. ZERO (0) FEEDBACK AND NON-U.S. BIDDERS: If you are a zero (0) feedback bidder or a non-U.S. bidder you MUST contact me before bidding. I will cancel the bid of any zero feedback or non-U.S. bidder that does not contact me prior to bidding. I will require any zero feedback or non-U.S. bidder to provide me with a verifiable physical address and contact information prior to bidding. I realize we were all zero feedback bidders at some point, but unfortunately zero feedback bidders are often also non-paying bidders on automobile auctions. BIDDER CONFIDENCE: I strive for the most transparent auction possible. As a bidder, you can be confident that the vehicle you are bidding on is described to the best of my ability. I am always happy to provide any perspective bidder my contact information if they wish to speak directly with me on the telephone about the vehicle. If within driving distance, a perspective bidder is welcome to come see the car in person prior to bidding. I am happy and willing to take any reasonable actions (i.e. additional pictures, telephone conversation, in-person viewing of car prior to conclusion of the auction, etc.) to give the bidder confidence that the vehicle being auctioned is indeed in my possession, for sale, and has been described as accurately as I am able. I will conduct myself in a professional manner throughout the auction process and I will be a prompt communicator via email, telephone or text message.
