Additional conditions This car is being re-listed because the auction winner last week turned out to be a fraud with zero prior Ebay feedback... . Only buyers with positive Ebay feedback accepted Seller reserves the right to end this auction at any time prior to auction end if car is sold privately Description I'm in my 70s and 2nd owner . Car was my "driver" for the past 10 years and driven less than 2000/year. Engine and Transmission run like a clock with plenty of power ....no problems no oil burning with just 70k ORIGINAL miles. I LOVE THIS CAR !!.... Has 4 Uniroyal Tires that are basically new with about 2500 miles on them ( see picture of tread). Just put on a new muffler ( see picture) and changed oil/filter. Headliner has been replaced ( no sag) and rear wagon ( aka mother in law )seat is mint.. grand kiddies LOVE the seat as all kiddies do ( get to ride backwards). Standard stuff: AC needs to be recharged PWR steer and brakes cruise control Intermittent wipers tilt wheel power seat ( driver only) rear window defog Has ABS but right rear wheel speed sensor not working so ABS not working. Still passes Mass State Inspection though because standard brakes work OK without ABS Car has WORKING remote start/ entry including tailgate with two(2) remotes. complete shop repair manuals What's WRONG at this giveaway price you ask ? Buicks of this vintage are renowned for rusting badly. The usual rust is there on the wheel wells, rocker panels along with dings and dents as well. Pictures of cars on the internet always make a car look a lot better than it actually does.....no exception here but still not bad looking. You need to see it. About 6 weeks ago the rear axle tie rod broke ( rust) and some of the axle mounting steel driver side broke ( rust again) see pictures. I continued to drive the car home in this condition ( about 25 miles) with the car really swaying badly when turns were made. It wasn't until I got home that I could see the break and actual damage. I called a friend ( a welder). he looked and said there looked like there was still enough steel left on the body frame to weld in a replacement axle which would be an absolute requirement if the car is to be driven safely again. You need to look if you're going to repair it yourself or have someone look that's qualified to actually determine if a repair can be safely made. .I'm selling the car as is with NO promises or guarantees as to its safe drive-ability. The bottom line here is that the car is a sweet running front wheel drive wagon that MUST have a new rear axle. I'm a "shade tree mechanic" and can weld but I'm far too old now to tackle this rear axle replacement. I was just going to scrap the car but I was sick to think of just scrapping all the GOOD VALUABLE things ( motor /trannie with only 70k miles on them , new tires ,new muffer, remote start entry) and when the axle is OK it rides Beautifully!.. arrrghhh.... 3.1L engines with trans alone go for $600+ bucks here on Ebay So I figured I pop it on EBAY here and give someone the opportunity to buy this car on the cheap that could either fix the rear axle problem and end up with a sweet driver car OR grab an Engine /tranny with ONLY 70K MILES on it along with 4 basically new tires, a brand new muffler and a $100+ remote starter/ keyless entry system. Your call If you decide to buy this car I must ask that you acknowledge and sign that in its current condition that the car is unsafe to drive and that it is being sold for parts. What you do with it thereafter is totally up to you. The car is in Natick, Ma and you are welcome to come and have a look-see. Thanks for your interest. .
