Up for auction is my 1964 Impala. 283ci V8, manual 3 on the tree with mechanical overdrive. I restored this car about 10 years ago and it still looks quite nice. I believe that the miles are original although I cannot prove it, but...when I overhauled the engine it was spotless inside. It is still standard bore and deck. I reinstalled the original pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, heads etc. I replaced the bearings, rings, timing chain, and installed hardened valve seats. It still has the original 2bbl carburetor and distributer. It runs very smooth and with the overdrive transmission you can get 22mpg highway. The tires and brakes were replaced along with the interior. There is an aftermarket radio installed that fits the factory dash and it has an auxiliary input for Ipod, Pandora input etc. I did not do anything with the suspension or steering because everything was in pretty good condition. When I bought the car I found the original fender skirts, hubcaps and rims in the trunk. The build sheet was under the rear seat still. The paint and body work still is a 8 out of 10 but the hood could use a respray. It shows imperfections that are not up to the rest of the cars standards. Oh by the way EVERYTHING works on this car, all lights, horn, turn signals, trunk light, even the clock!
