1978 FJ40 up for sale here. It's olive brown/green factory color. Has a 6cly and 4 speed manual transmission with 129k miles on it. The 40 has been my daily driver for a few years now with the exception of the salt covered winters. Last March I pulled the engine/trans/t-case out because a bad head gasket, and put a replacement 77 2F long block in it along with a clutch kit, rear main seal, oil pan gasket and a few other odds and ends. At that time I also put on a new set of General Grabber AT2's(all 5) and sand blasted and painted the wheels and put on a new set of shocks. Last Sept. I put on a new replacement carb, had the distributor rebuilt, put in a new OE radiator/thermostat and had a new exhaust ran using the factory mounts. It has had the fuel tank flushed and a new fuel pump and filters put on and other maintenance work done, like I said it's my daily driver and I take care of it accordingly. All the lights/switches work as does both the front and rear heaters, heck even the cigarette lighter works. As you can see by the pics the body is going to need done eventually but the floors from the rear tire forward are still very good. Included in the sale will be the original 2F, carb, all the smog related items, a good used windshield with new gasket, an exhaust block off plate and gaskets and some other spares I have for it. Really enjoy driving this 40 but I have decided to invest in another build and I can't keep them both. The reserve is set low enough that the buyer can purchase it, get the body work done and still be money ahead when it's time to sell it down the road.
