Vehicle Detail

Carefully maintained BMW 7 series, 740iL trim, V8 engine. Second owner (autocheck splits the first ownership I believe), garaged most of its life, excellent condition. Not many left with low miles - and as a 2001/04 build, one of the very last made. The accident autocheck mentions was repaired by the original owner, who owned an auto shop. It was in the front passenger corner and did not require replacing any body parts save for the bumper cover. The car comes with a documented maintenance history that goes back to 2004, with paperwork to prove regular maintenance and several common E38 extras. A brief list of recent major maintenance: Right before my ownership, mid 2013, radiator + fan clutch + expansion tank, alternator, new battery and tires. In the last 10k mi / 18mos: - Valve cover gaskets (with all intake system gaskets replaced 'while we were there') - OSV - Spark plugs - Power steering hoses - Injectors rebuilt - SLS hoses, including the short hose beneath the PS reservoir that often leaks - Water pump and all front coolant hoses - Belts - Front engine seals (the VANOS solenoid seals are notorious for aging and seeping oil) - Trans oil + filter (with the correct ZF oil and the correct FILTRAN filter) What I would do were I to keep the car: - Rear shocks need attention, they are leaking. Either do all four or switch out to a non SLS/EDC setup. One could just replace them and live happily, they can be found here on ebay for less than $600 each (forget the $1800 list price).- Suspension wear items are for the most part original. Some were replaced by PO, rest need or will need attention. A kit for all wear items is here on ebay and on most BMW parts websites. - Get bumpers repainted, see pictures. Edited to add: from the invoices I have from the previous owner, the valley pan was also done in 2013.
