Vehicle Detail
Up for sale is my 2004 Nissan Murano SL AWD. Every option available from the time except towing and navigation. I have carefully researched and priced this via Blackbook and Edmunds (details below). I marked it as "rough" in Edmunds even though cosmetically it's not in bad shape for its age. Exterior has typical nicks, scratches and dings for a 13-year-old vehicle but as it has spent time in the country it has more than a city car. Interior is black leather with carpeted mats. The roof rack does not come with the vehicle. It was marked "rough" in Edmunds due to the following:Check engine light code for a Step Motor fault in the CVT transmission (could be the step motor or TCM)A rattle/squeak in the front drivers side suspension (could be sway bar bushing or another suspension part - it does not affect handling)The emergency brake barely engages (needs to be adjusted)A heat shield or something rattle underneath (not loud but definitely noticeable - again, does not affect drive-ability)Front driver’s seat having a tear on the door side (typical with this SUV) and a small tear on the passenger sideOther little things: The driver’s side sun visor won't stay upThe center console cover is off its track (easy fix, I'm just lazy)The rear cargo area looks like two corgi's rode there because they didThe rear hatch lever "sticks" and you manually need to move it forward to properly close the hatch (another easy fix) The rest of the interior is clean and good looking except for the driver’s seat although you can tell where the kids seats were in back. The following has been done since I owned it: It has 3 month old Nitto Crosstek tiresNew inner and outer tie rodsNew sway bar linksNew struts/shocks (front - installed late Spring) New right front wheel bearing (Installed late Spring)New left front axle (Installed late Spring)New lower control arms (Installed late Spring)It was just aligned and had the oil changed. The brakes were also serviced late spring The alternator was replaced in February The car has run fine roughly 85% of the time the last year with the CVT issue. Note: If the car is cold shifting is problematic If it is warm it is fine most of the time It will occasionally have trouble shifting after going down or up a hill and you need to turn off and restart the car to alleviate the issue. Personally, I've become so used to driving it that it's more of an annoyance than anything else. That being said if you take it to a mechanic they will tell you it needs a new transmission. I was told this May of 2015 and it is still running exactly the way it was then. I've been told it could be the Transmission Control Module, or a speed sensor. I'm not sure and I continue to use it as my daily driver. I am letting go as I have purchased a new car. Once you learn the Murano's idiosyncrasies it's not that big of a deal, then again you may want to fix all of these things. That is up to you. Needless to say I don't sugar coat anything and for the condition of the car this is a more than fair price and is priced according to the issues listed. if you can live with the way it is it SHOULD treat you fine but I make no guarantees. It's being sold AS IS. Like me it looks fab at night or from a distance but imperfections are visible when up close. I will only except verified PayPal and shipping is your responsibility. I have tried to capture everything possible in my pictures. The stickers have been removed and the Thule roof bars do NOT come with the vehicle.
