Vehicle Detail
We have owned this van for the past 5 years. Non-smoker. Previous owner bought it with a salvage title. He said the carpet was a little wet from flash flood, but it passed inspection. It had about 201,000 when I purchased it, and we added another 79,000. I've had no major accidents with the van, but did bump into a car which cracked the front bumper. I don't know if the transmission was replaced prior to owning it, but we never had to. It currently shifts just fine. Power everything works as well as the cruise control. A/C is still cold, too. Since purchasing another Odyssey last November, we have only occasionally used this van due to some issues we thought we would take care of eventually. We decided to move it on down the road and free up some driveway space instead. Here is what I have recently put into it since we've owned it:= 7/7/15: CV axle assembly, Passenger lower ball joint= 5/8/15: New alternator, crankshaft pulley, and compressor belt= Tires new approximately 1.5 years ago.= Brakes serviced approximately 8 months ago.= Oil changed last May.= Battery approximately 2 years old.= Almost a full tank of gas! That being said, I want there to be no surprises as to what issues are existing with this van. The van runs and can be driven, though we would not recommend driving it for long distances. Here is the list:= Front struts leaking= Hole in exhaust flex hose (pretty loud). = Hood latch cable recently came off the latch mechanism, so the hood is stuck closed for the moment.= Windshield cracked= Transmission fluid leak on hose. Small leak that I've been told is a cheap fix.= Oil leak originating from the front crankshaft seal (near water pump) could drip onto the timing belt, which over time will stretch the belt, causing it to either break or come off. At that point, substantial damage could occur to the valves. The leak has been going on for about the last 7000 miles.= Both power sliding doors work, but the roller/hinge assemblies need replacing. The driver side door closes up to the last quarter inch or so, then requires someone to push it shut. I'm told there is a motor that would have to be replaced. The 2 major things that need to be done (front crankshaft seal leak and flex hose exhaust leak) was quoted to me here in Minneapolis to be approximately $800. The mechanic I use said the rest of the car was in pretty condition, and thought the car could go another couple of years. No guarantee, but that was the opinion of a shop I have trusted for years. Please feel free to message me with any questions. I'll be happy to be as detailed as needed.
