Vehicle Detail
This is what I call a 1977 Plymouth Gran Fury Brougham 'GTX'! :-D It's the high performance car that Plymouth should/could have made :-) I actually have some brand new "GTX" and "440" emblems that I have seriously considered putting on the car in place of the "Brougham" emblems that are about shoulder high behind the rear doors and the "Gran Fury" emblems on the fenders! I'm a custom type guy, not into the stock look but the body has not been modified on this car. It has numerous under hood upgrades and under body modifications [added leaf springs/added large rear anti-sway bar/subframe connectors] but the body is stock. It has a current 2016 tag/registration, clear GA title, and has been insured for a stated value of $5000 since I bought it. The insurance is only $13.28 a month for me by the way. I have large stack of rcpts in a file folder that the original owner had saved since he bought it new. They go with the car. Engine is a 1969 block, 440 punched out .030 over size to 446 cubes with stock intake and a thermoquad. It was built by a race engine shop in Illinois and I have the rcpt of course. It was originally a 440 from the factory. This car has the huge C-Body 9.25 Chrysler/Dana rear with 4.10 Sure-Grip gears! No body rust or significant body damage. Paint is gloss black and fairly nice when washed and waxed :-) It is not the original paint job. The body and interior are in great shape for a 1977 model. It just needs a good wash and interior wipe down which should happen soon and then I can post some better pics. The interior pics do not do it justice in my opinion. It was worked on mostly by Mopar experts Aloha Automotive in Wisconsin that advertised in back of Mopar magazines in the late 90's. The owner of the car [Richard White] had a son that owned that multi million dollar facility that is now closed as far as I know. They use to restore cars and send them to Barrett-Jackson. I was told by the delivery driver who brought me the car in an enclosed trailer for $750. I've put over $1000 in it over the years and I have all rcpts since it was new! Off memory, items that I bought new and all have under 400 miles on them are: Upper radiator hose, new clamps, Jan 2016 master cylinder plus power brake booster from Rock Auto, [all new brake fluid used of course] Jan 2016 Borg Warner coil from Advanced Auto, Jan 2016 battery quick disconnect switch [$22], 875 Cranking Amps Douglas battery with 140 minutes reserve capacity from Auto Zone, Mallory spark plug wires, spark plugs, 118 amp alternator, Electronic Control Module [ECM], and the voltage regulator too I think. I have used 92 or 93 octane in it every time I get gas but with a 9.5 to 1 [may be 9] compression ratio it is not necessary. The glove box has a CB bracket that I neatly mounted on it and angled it for better view for the driver. All inside lights work as do headlights and running lights. The front seat was redone by Aloha Automotive and has no tears, rips or worn spots. It's not too impressive looking under the hood [except for the size and 440 pie pan] but it has the 440 power/torque and AWESOME sound after it is warmed up and you lay into the 4 barrel :-D Let me keep the battery for my other car and deduct $60. The other car in the pic on my back drive is an all original, triple black 1970 Pontiac Grand Prix SJ 455 with a Boomershine Pontiac emblem on the trunk that I sold years ago. I added a silver vinyl top as I was restoring it since I didn't want all black and I'm a custom type guy. I also figured for about $300 whoever got it after me could change it if they wanted. [ISSUES]Windshield is cracked on the passenger side and the chrome around windshield has damage. It does not hinder driver's view. Tires have lots of tread left but are very old. They are expensive 15" Michelin LT 10 ply truck tires. They guy I got it from in Wisconsin [Richard White/original owner] was pulling a trailer the 2 times a year he drove on vacation the last few years he had it. Blinkers do not work now but they did when I got it. I was told way up behind the dash is a flasher type thing that unplugs and can be replaced. The passenger mirror is there but the controller linkage to adjust it is laying on the floor but it is connected to adjust. Came from another car and was not long enough. Car has factory AC that is still all hooked up and 'was' working when I bought the car. All the 134A freon has leaked out now. Driver's door sticks when you try to open it unless you push the door in slightly, then lift the outside handle. This is a 40 year old car remember. It works fine on the inside. All doors and locks work. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is what I will probably be looking for after I sell this 77 AND the Candy Apple Red Pro Street 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner Coupe 440 that I will be listing soon on ebay for $19,440: 1969 Plymouth Satellite/Belvedere Station Wagon. It has to be a Plymouth "B" body wagon, not a "C". I'm a custom type guy as I've said so I do not care if it is not all original or not stock. I do not want a major project, since I'd have to hire for almost everything needed. I might consider a 68 Plymouth "B" body or a even a 1968/1969 Dodge "B", but no other years. I've had a 68/69 GTX hood with 440 emblems and the GTX interior pieces plus the Sport Satellite/GTX grille all waiting for many years to make a Custom 1969 GTX wagon, maybe a mild Pro Street. That's another car they should have made. I'm about to give up on that 20 year dream since I'm slowing down now and almost to age 54. Some will laugh at that age comment but others understand. 1978 Pontiac Trans Am with Martinique Blue paint and a 400 engine, Turbo 400 trans and air conditioning. It must have AC on it, working or not. No stick shifts! I do not care about it not being all original or not stock if the price is right. I might consider a 1977, 1979 or 1981 but only if they have a 400 or 455 engine. I'm not interested in a 301 turbo, 305, 350 or 403 engine. It must have blue, black or white interior. Paint must be near a Royal Blue shade. I might consider White or Red but for sure NOT Black, Navy, Baby Blue, Orange, Burgundy, Yellow or Brown. I'm not looking for a project TA. I'll be looking for a very nice car that's complete or near completion but not over $20,000. The price range would probably be $9000 to $20,000. If you list one on ebay that fits what I want, let me know. Thanks! I wish I could find my old 1963 Ford Fairlane 500 Sport Coupe with rear flared fender wells. My Uncle bought it new, sold it to his son [my cousin] and I bought it from my cousin for $1000 in about 1980. Sold it about 1982 for $900 to a guy around Decatur GA.It was originally red with a 260 V8 and 3 on the tree. My cousin had the fenders cut and flared for wider tires and added a built 289. My Dad and I took off the peeling chrome and painted it black and put in a Borg Warner close ratio 4 speed with a Zoom clutch. Car was last seen by my cousin near Stone Mountain in about 1985. There is a guy in Wisconsin that may have my car but if so he painted it back red I see. The raised and flared rear fenders are the key and the chrome missing is easy to spot. Also the emergency cable got wrapped around the driveshaft so we cut it off. It is very unlikely that it was replaced. I'd love to just know for sure where it is and see some pics.
