This 1946 Chevy pick up truck has patina to die for! The previous owner owned a custom hot rod and cycle shop and used this truck as a shop truck up until 2012. He had owned this truck since 1989. Understand that this is not a restored truck ,but a really neat and desirable survivor that has been mechanically set up to use as a driver, keeping the amazing patina intact. He passed away and it sat in the shop unmolested until I bought it a few months ago. I got it home and tuned up the engine with new points, plugs, condesor, rebuilt carb. I put a new brake master cylinder on with rear brake lines and wheel cylinders (fronts should still be done) He converted the truck at one point to a 12 volt system and bypassed the original wire harness (the original 6 volt harness is still there and intact) He wired up headlights so they would work. The glass on the right side of the windshield should be replaced (lmc truck around $30) the windshield cranks in and out the way it should as video shows, and the windows go up and down but could use lubing. The doors open and shut with no sag. The floor pans and cab corners are rust free and solid. I noticed some leakage from the radiator so I would recommend recoring or replacing the radiator although the truck did not overheat during our video shoot. I drove the truck comfrortably 50 mph for the video and it handled like a 46 chevy truck should with no issues. The truck fires right up and the brakes stop the truck the way they should. There is no tailgate and I noticed he patched metal on the running boards and the base of one of the fenders (still looks great ) he had a seat cover on the original seat which I removed so you can see the condition of the original seat. I recommend cleaning the gas tank out before using as I did not want to run the truck off it until it could be cleaned out. I am running it off a auxillary tank. This has the 216 6 cyl engine with the factory 3 speed trans that shifts beautifully with no grinding. The clutch worked the way it should. The tires are good and the mag wheels look great on the truck. the miles are sold exempt as it is over ten years old. I do not want to overcall this truck or undercall it, make sure you watch the video, study the pics, and become as excited about the look and feel of it as I was when I first saw it. The grill is all intact but has some chrome peeling. I think it adds to the patina! When we did the video, we had two sets of people stop us and take pictures with the truck, thats how cool this truck is. This truck comes with a clean title ready for you to register. I invite you to come and check it out by appointment or hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you. I require a 500 dollar non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end.
