No Reserve Auction for this 1998 Ford Explorer XLT - This car was mainly used for family vacations and winter commuting. Runs and drives - no engine or transmission issues (transmission was replaced at 112k with a rebuilt one). Power drivers seat, windows, mirrors, sunroof - all work. Needs some TLC on the body. Mechanically, the car will need front brakes to pass inspection. I moved to California earlier this year, so it has been sitting for about a month, but still starts right up. Recently replaced; Muffler & tail pipe Rotors (4) Rear Brakes Tires (all 4) Battery Left/Right upper control arms and ball joints I bought this car with around 88,000 miles on it with a rebuilt title from a side impact, no frame damage. Both passenger side doors and fender were replaced (paint is fading a little bit there). Overall condition is fair for the age of the vehicle I would give it a 5/10. The rear bumper is rusted through, so that might need to be replaced, depending on the inspection station. The paint is in OK condition - rusting in a few spots and is fading in other areas (where it was repainted). It would be an easy repair though. There's some scratches in the paint as well. Interior has some wear and needs a good cleaning. Heat works well, A/C needs recharged. If you have any additional questions or if you'd like to see it, let me know.
