Here's a chance to re-build a barn-find Bugeye Sprite! This car was disassembled and media blasted in 1971 and has been sitting in a garage ever since! This one has a good tub, with a surprisingly solid center section. You'll need to weld in a new passenger footwell (driver side looks fine) but the cross members are without perforations, both laterally and longitudinally, and so are the inner sills, all courtesy of low mileage and 45 years of indoor storage. So while there is quite a lot of surface rust, this car has good potential! The outer rockers and fender bottoms were poorly repaired with body filler, but if you cut that out of the car, the rest of the tub appears much more solid. The floor pans under and behind the seats are quite good. Notice that there are no perforations where the floor meets the rear bulkhead in the spring area. This is nice to see! It is a mostly complete car that’s a two-owner Bugeye that will have relatively low miles since it was only on the road for about ten years before being stored.The engine is the correct 948 original engine mated to the original smooth case transmission. We have had it outside (covered) for just two weeks. It will need to be rebuilt. (We also have several good used 948 engines for sale if you would prefer.) Everything in the pictures is included, there is a bucket with lots of original hardware and bits. The car comes with a clean vintage CT title issued in 1971 (there's a picture of the title on our website).We have all the parts available that you would need, including sheet metal and any missing parts. but it's mostly a complete car with good potential to be rebuilt!Note that the dolly is just on the car for us to move it around and the dolly is NOT included with the sale.The car is sold as is, and come pick it up in Branford CT, or we can arrange shipment for you.
