The first time I bought this bike was around 2006 it came out of Ohio and I paid $5400 for it. Then sold it to a friend of mine who then sold it back to me after four years of hardly riding it. I bought it back and then went through a really bad divorce and sold it to a car dealer in Morristown Tn. He sold it to an individual there and I went back home to Alabama. I used to flip bikes and this was one of the best Goldwings I had owned so when I was ready and able I called the guy at the dealer and was trying to find out who had bought this bike in order to try to get it back. I was told by the dealer that he couldn't give out that information. After the divorce I was depressed and never dated.... then I got on my knees last June and started asking GOD for a wife. Without telling all that part she and I now live in Knoxville and we went to Morristown last June (shortly after we met) to see if we could find out something about getting the bike back by going in person. Low and behold the guy who had bought it had some back problems and he had traded it back in to the dealer. We bought it that day and have had some of the best rides of my life since then. The reason I am selling is simply money..... we need to get out of debt, and even though I don't really WANT to...... the bike needs to go. About the bike itselfI would trust this bike on a trip to Alaska today. I had put timing belts on it when I owned it before and it has two new tires recently put on. It has both brake and headlight modulators for safety, and a compufire altenator. It has an extra tall windshield. You can see how it is dressed with not too many pieces of add on to be gawdy but enough to be tasteful. I had added two extra sets of running lights that are both 55watt halogen and the compufire does well in handling the lights. There are also several red LED lights that have been added that give the bike a great look when riding at night. The original honda fuel pump has been replaced with an out of tank pump located on the lower left hand side of the bike under the cover near the passenger footrest. This fuel pump is compatible with the original. I have used Mobile 1 full synthetic oil in it. The bike runs strong and handles great but there are some things that need attention. The drivers mirror is missing some paint from my stupidity at the car wash. I have only one of the handles for the seat. The seat has a small tear. The speedometer is not working and it should be noted that I sold the bike with a michelin on front and bridgestone on back when it went to the dealer and it had the same tires on it when I bought it back (but they were worn out. Also the speedometer had stopped working the second time i owned the bike and it has had a total of (best I remember) three sets of tires put on so the mileage is probably around 80,000 actual. The right front shock has leaked a small amount of fluid about three months ago, (but) there are two shocks that go with the bike.... The rear speakers either are not hooked up or not working. The bike looks good overall and still turns heads when it rolls down the street but does have some small cosmetic issues everything is in the pictures. The cruise and high speed amp don't work since the speedometer isn't operational. It has a throttle lock that I like better than electronic cruise because it sets quicker. It should also be said that the next time brake pads are put on the front that one of the retaining screws has the hex head wallowed and could be a bit troublesome to get out. That is everything I know about this bike and it sounds awful to type out all those problems but none of them are a super big fix. This is a really good bike that runs and rides very well, but I don't have the money to keep it up as it deserves.
