Vehicle Detail

Up for sale a 1975 CB500T. Bike starts/runs, but needs some work. Engine is showing 132 psi in each cylinder. I'm not 100% sure if the bike needs something simple like carbs and timing or something more serious like a top end rebuild. The bike is in original condition with less than 3k miles. It has brand new tires with 0 miles on them. I bought this bike in December and immediately took it to the shop to get it road worthy. The story is - bike was purchased new in 1975 in Strongsville, OH. The gentleman then moved to California, parking the bike in his mother in laws heated garage. His mother in law was placed in to a nursing home late last year, which is when the bike was pulled out of the garage and put up for sale. Here is where it gets tricky - I had the bike in a shop and they supposedly did carb cleaning, new plugs, oil change, cam chain tensioner, points and timing adjustment, lubed the chain and threw on a new starter switch and tires. After the bill was ran up, they then said it needed a top end rebuild because one of the cylinders is screwed. I feel like i've been dicked around. I had another mechanic look at the bike and he could not confirm whether the bike needed a top end rebuild, but also looked at it in my garage and not his shop. He checked compression, which is at 132 psi. He had strong feelings that the issue is something simple and had i paid him to do a full inspection, would have started with the things that have already supposedly been completed. He felt there was a strong possibility that the carbs weren't put together properly or some other finicky issue. Aesthetically the bike is in awesome shape. Own something that no one else has at a fraction of the price. Checking out the bike beforehand in Cleveland, OH can be arranged. $400 nonrefundable deposit within 48 hours. Bike sold as-is with no warranty. On Jun-03-16 at 03:10:03 PDT, seller added the following information: Inside the tank looks brand new. Please do not bid if you do not intend to purchase.
