I am selling a 2001 Cadillac Catera. I bought this car 2 years ago and it has been driven daily since. There are several issues that should be attended to.I will start with the good. The engine has less than 87,000 miles and starts up and runs smoothly. The interior is leather and is in really good condition for its age. The A/C blows super cold and the heater blows hot. It has a Bose stereo system that sounds really good. Areas that need attention:1) The car needs a front bumper - The body shop wanted too much money to fix it. I do not know how to take off an old bumper and put a new one on. If you do, this could be a simple fix for you. The bumper is broken because I drove through a leave pile that had big sticks in it. 2) From time to time the car dumps antifreeze. From my research I believe this problem is a common problem in the Catera that requires replacing the HCV. The Heater control valve is $33 at Partsgeek. This problem started over the winter and I just added Anti freeze when needed. Since it is summer, I have been using water.3) The car has an air suspension, My mechanic tells me that my suspension air pump is no longer working and that is why I have a leveling light on. He says it is an easy fix and told me to get the part and he would install it. There are several for sale on ebay for $55 price range4) The check engine light is on. The mechanic tells me it is a $300 fix if he did it. I don't remember the specific issue but he said if fixed it would improve the gas mileage and run a little better. As I said I have been driving it like this for over a year and sometimes it even goes off on its own for periods of time.There some other small issues that I will share with interested parties. For the condition of the vehicle Kelly Blue Book puts the price of the car at $1260. I reserve the right to end the auction early because the vehicle is listed for sale locally.
