For sale is a 1985 Jeep CJ 7 - 258 Inline 6 cylinder with 5 speed manual transmission. This is a rare find with the garnet red paint and garnet red interior. I’m the 3rd owner of this Jeep, I purchased it in April 2011 from a neighbor who had it in a barn, it had not been driven since 1999. Since I purchased it I've replaced the carburetor, thermostat, water pump, belts, plugs, alternator, battery, restored the rims to factory, new tires Mickey Thompson Fun Country 33x12.50”, and replaced all the dash knobs and indicator lights. Also upgraded was the steering wheel shaft and heavy duty bracket at the base of the shaft. The heater core has been bypassed so the heater does not work. The Jeep runs GREAT aside from the occasional backfire. There are a few cuts in the drivers seat, mainly from wear, however the passenger seat is in excellent condition, and the rear seat has 2 small holes in it as you can see from the picture. The bikini top and soft doors are the original Whitco pieces to match the jeep. The paint and decals are original, also the carpet is original as well as the center console. The previous owner had a full roll cage installed - hence the emergency brake is operable but hard to get to in an emergency situation, also the glove box door has been removed because of the roll cage. The passenger mirror needs to be replaced, i just never got around to doing it. Also included are the original hard doors, as you can see from the pictures the paint on the doors is in bad shape, however the windows do roll up and down with no problem. The Jeep has a super lift on it, as was well as a shackle lift. It also has headers installed which gives it a grumbling sound. The mile marker hydraulic winch is in working condition, however the plug in at the front of the winch was damaged and needs to be replaced so it cannot be used at this time. At the time I purchased the Jeep the speedometer was not working, I had to replace the cable and now it works fine, I’ve driven it less than 1000 miles since i purchased it. I have never taken the jeep offload but the 4WD works fine and the front hubs are easy to lock. The dash is in great condition with only one small crack as you can see from the pictures. There is some rust on the Jeep as you can see from the pictures, however the floor boards have no holes in them aside from the drain plugs. The temperature gauge does not work, however all the other dash knobs and indicators work properly as well as turn signals, and other lights.
