Vehicle Detail
One of only 1134 crew cabs made in 1970. Most crew cabs of these years went to government or railroads, not private party and were beat to heck.. This one was special ordered by the owner for him to put his camper on. I purchased this years ago from the estate of the original owner. It has 93,000 original miles. It is a 2wd long bed rig. The engine is a 390 2V and was re-built in 1992 with 86286 on the clock and 2500.00 was spent on it back then. It has had only 5000 miles added since the rebuild. I have most of the documentation on this truck including the original parts assembly print out from Ford when it was made. Original owners manual, warranty card and power train card included. It has 3 gas tanks however I have not checked the other 2 tanks to see what shape they are in. I have been using just the tank behind the back seat. What I have done to it is put new tires on it (still has original rims and hub caps) , replaced the exhaust system. It has a new windshield and rubber gasket. I replaced the dash bezel so the chrome gleams on it. It also has a new steering wheel and horn ring. All of those parts were made from the original Ford tooling. The bed of the truck has some surface rust on it but is in really nice shape and I was going to sand off the surface rust and repaint it but I thought it better to leave it alone so it can show the original condition . The body is extremely straight with one small rust spot on the lower back side of each of the front doors . There is a small cool paint wear spot on the door where the guy stuck his arm out when he had the window down. It has never been in an accident that I can tell. It has its original white paint . Probably the best original example I have seen. Also available for sale locally.
