1974 Honda XR

Up for auction is a very nice 1974 Honda XR-75.This bike looks and runs fantastic, has 155lbs of cylinder compression, valve clearance and timing chain were just adjusted, carb just rebuilt, new clutch plates installed, new seat cover, new grips, new fork dust covers, new chain, new air filter, all new cables, new throttle assembly, new exhaust header, new tubes, fresh Dupont rubber gray base coat / clear coat, new graphics, chrome and aluminum parts were polished and cleaned up, lower end of the motor was primed, painted with high temperature paint and then cleared with high temp motor clear.This bike starts right up on the First or Second kick, runs strong, no smoke, no motor noises or weird sounds, idles perfect, shifts great and the brakes work as they should. The original stock exhaust that came with this bike when I bought it was pretty much shot and had dents in the head pipe and was in poor shape overall so I decided to purchase an after market DG replica header for it and it really sounds great, it sounds more like a 250 now than a 75cc bike. I decided to leave the original tractor tires on the bike instead of putting after market tires on it because I could not find the tractor tires for sale anywhere. The tires do have some dry rot cracks on them but with new tubes it is definitely safe to ride. The bottom of the on/off switch is broken on as shown in One of the pictures but still works as it should and the right upper for tube had some pitting that I could not get out which is also shown in One of the pictures, the left fork upper only has a little pitting up near the top of the for so it is barely noticeable.I am not advertising this bike as a complete restoration or a museum piece because it is not perfect. I am selling this as a great collectors bike or someone looking for a great rider. This is a matching numbers bike that is mostly original other than the header, renthal grips and front number plate. At least to me a Restored bike is a bike that was was 100% put back to it's original condition. A Restored bike should be Perfect in every way and should have all OEM parts on the bike. I see at lot of bikes listed on ebay that are advertised as Restored and are missing parts, has after market parts all over it and has been painted with a spray bomb and to me that is far from Restored! I have sold about a dozen bikes on here as nice as this XR and a few even nicer and have never listed any of them as a Restored bike. I personally would rather under sell a bike than to over sell it and I am always honest about the bikes that I am selling because I want to continue to receive 100% Positive Feedback for each of my bike sales.
