This listing is for a well taken care of 35th Anniversary Ford Mustang GT convertible. I'm selling because I’m moving to TX and don’t have room to tote two sports cars with my new additions to my family (twin 1 year olds). PLEASE NOTE: I do not recommend this car if you’ve never driven a car over 500 horsepower before. This car is not for a novice. Since it’s a track car, all safety net electronics have been taken out. No traction control, no electronic solenoids for transmission, NO EMISSIONS! The transmission will shift into any gear at any RPM/speed. If you’re going 60 mph and accidentally down shit twice into 1st gear, you just lost your intermediate shaft in the tranny and it’s a $1,000 fix (the ratchet shifter ensures you don’t skip gears by accident but it can’t correct for stupidity). The tune has no rev limiters so THE CAR IS NOT FOR NOOBS…Well for starters, it is in good shape in and out. I guarantee you could drive it from my house straight to the track, do 10 passes, and drive it home. It is mechanically sound to say the least. The chassis has 147,XXX miles on it. I have all receipts to prove mileage on engine, transmission, and supercharger. The engine (engine built at 124,XXX miles) and transmission (transmission built at 118,XXX miles) were built to handle 1,000 bhp. The supercharger has less than 3,000 miles on it. The transmission is an automatic but can only be driven manually (sort of like a Tiptronic transmission). It is very easy and reliable to drive and it gives you the best of both worlds of an automatic and a manual. Total driver control and instantaneous shifts like a manual but no clutch so even my wife can drive it. The engine is fully forged at around 10:1 compression ratio and can take much more abuse if you want to slap a nitrous kit on it or up the boost (why not both). I will assure you driving a shift kit is easier and much more consistent than a manual. Body and paint: 8.5/10. The car was painted in 2014 and was kept in a garage. The body has a door ding on it by the rear right tire. Very few rock chips (maybe 1 or 2) on front bumper. The third brake light has sun damage but doesn’t look too bad unless you’re standing a foot away. The top was replaced in 2010. All of the support pins on the hood applique (black piece) have broken over time. I have it bolted down to the hood but up close looks a little raised up. You can either replace or be creative and figure out a way to get it lay down flat with out looking raised up - suggest an adhesive.Interior: 8/10. The seats were redone in a red/black two tone leather. Power seat still works as should and car has upgraded Infinity Kappa speakers and 2x MTX 12’s ran off of their own respective amps. Carpet is in great shape but floor mat on driver side is kind of dirty. I had dynomat on the trunk lid but it came off over time and left the tacky black residue behind. Current window tint is about 8 years old and could use a re-tint.Mechanical: 8.5/10. Only two components need to be fixed – The Heat and the Air. I didn’t bother to fix them since this car is mostly a track car and I don’t mind putting the windows down/top back for air and it doesn’t get cold enough for me to fix the heat. The A/C doesn’t cut on anymore and hasn’t really had a good trouble-shoot. Everything is new on the A/C system minus the evap core and condenser and have not noticed a leak – I suspect electrical issues like the pressure switch. The heater core needs to be replaced but there is no coolant leak since I simply bypassed the core. Other things that could be fixed but don’t compromise operation: The fastener for the power steering pump leaks but it’s such a slow leak I never replaced it. The map lights do not come on (to include mirror lights). The "cd" player does not work but you can use an "Ipod" or flash drive to play music (I use the iPod classic as a hard drive and it is included with the car). The antenna is not there so the radio will not work (I don’t listen to radio and it looked silly). The gas tank leaks a small puddle if you fill it to the brim – I think it leaks through the vent line since the retaining clip is missing (I suggest swapping out to a Cobra tank anyway).Performance: 9/10. I give it a 9 because this is a more track efficient car than street due to the transmission. It only gets about 17.5 mpg on the highway cruising at 60 mph. I’m running the biggest pulley and the car runs 12 psi and has 2 tunes (one for methanol injection and one for 93 octane). Makes 555 rwhp/620 rwtq on the Mustang Dyno for the meth tune. The weather corrected numbers (aka Dynojet format numbers) are 612 rwhp/684 rwtq. It also makes 470 rwhp/585 rwtq on the Mustang Dyno for the 93-octane tune. The weather corrected numbers are 519 rwhp/645 rwtq. Smaller pulleys will be included and they should gain you about 4-6 psi worth 100-150 rwhp. The best I ran was 11.2 in the ¼ mile. The car can go faster but the Nitto’s installed are not ideal for a car with this much power. Mickey Thompson’s should see this car in mid to high 10’s easy since you should be able to effectively use 1st gear with better quality tires. I'm including the SCT tuner so if you are displeased with the tune or want to tune it more aggressively then you have the ability to take it to your own dyno shop and have them tune the car how you want it. The tune for 93 octane is about 14* of timing and the meth tune runs about 6-8* more so that’s where the power increase comes from. 14* is very conservative but I like to play it safe on my street tune. I am including extras with the car that in my opinion belong with the car and I won’t need without the car. It is still installed but just has no power going to it. If you up the boost and start running out of fuel, you can re-connect the BAP for about another 50-100 rwhp before going to a triple pump system. Additionally, this car will need a new oil change (mobil 1 0w20 synthetic) and a wheel alignment. I didn't bother to do the usual maintenance since I knew it was going to be sold soon. It does have new NGK tr6 spark plugs and a new belt so those will be fine for a while. On Apr-12-16 at 05:26:45 PDT, seller added the following information: I was revising my original description and realized I forgot to mention the cruise cable needs to be replaced to the one I'mean including in the auction. The cruise cable installed is for a different supercharger and is too long. It is easily installed under an hour and the instructions are included (in the kenne bell supercharger installation manual).
