Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1996 two door two wheel drive Tahoe that has been completely re-done, top to bottom, everything upgraded imaginable. If you are checking out this auction, I'm sure I don't have to tell you how rare these are, and in this shape, extinct is a better word. Below is an indepth description of all the money, time, and labor spent on the restoration of this rare truck, it's alot, so thanks for taking the time to read. I have always been a fullsize Blazer fanatic and when the 1992 two door Blazers came out, I was smitten. Always wanted one to customize, couldn't ever afford one. Fast forward to 2012, I ran across this one that was a little abused, never been washed, dinged up here and there, but I didn't care because I was gonna redo everything anyway. It came from the Florida coast, so no rust, a nice start to a quality build. I had it complete stripped down to just a bare hull sitting on the frame, doors, liftgate, whole front end, all glass, complete interior, everything taken off for paint. Roof rack holes were welded up, front fenders were replaced with real GM, Goodmark hood added, all other body parts were stripped of original paint and smoothed. All paint on this vehicle is high dollar Dupont base coat/clear coat. Roof painted black, kinda going for that glass panel truck look. Original blue was a little dark, so I went with blue that came on the SS/R trucks in 2003. They really go well together. Painted in pieces, before re-assembly, a new windshield was put in, then the rest of the glass was installed. Next doors and liftgate were built and hung back on the truck. Front end sheet metal was assembled and installed. All paint was then color sanded and buffed out slick. All suspension and brakes were upgraded soon after, then the wheels and tires were added. While suspension was apart and bare, we pressure washed the complete frame, then painted it with Wurth chassis black before reassembly. So bascially the truck is almost built minus the interior at this point in 2013. I then found a wrecked Tahoe that had beautiful factory cloth interior in it, so I purchased the whole truck so I could use everything I needed for my Tahoe. Then at the end of the year I got sick, all my money and time went to dealing with my illness, so the Tahoe sit under a carport for almost two years. I am now healthy enough and have put together a little money to finish it, but sadly due to these bills, I have to sell it. Now in 2016, it had an exhaust gasket leak when I started it the other day, so I put a set of shorty headers on it, then added a full Flowmaster cat back exhaust kit. Battery was dead, new Interstate added. I sent it out and had it re-buffed,waxed and detailed, it looks great. Changed the oil again and flushed the tranny. I won't keep on with how much time and money I have in it, anyone looking to buy something like this, knows how much these things listed in this auction cost to have done. Less than 100 miles since completion. All parts in this section have been replaced with everything I could still buy original from GM. Parts from GM:Grille shell that came standard on a 98 Yukon. I like the look better than a Chevrolet one.Fenders, both original front fenders were pretty dinged up, both new out of the box were used.Front bumper, paintable work truck bumper.Lower spoiler.Third brake lamp. Both door opening weatherstrips, both glass runs, both upper seals, and liftgate weatherstrip.Interior door handles.Power window motor/regulators replaced, left and right.Power window switches, left and right.Fuel pump assembly and filter. Parts below are from LMC, Carquest, and few other quality part suppliers. Remember these parts are new, not used or refurbished. All other replaced parts:All lamps front and rear, Capa Certified.Newer model Tahoe mirrors. Starting to fade a little.Goodmark cowl hood. All gaskets from heads up, intake, valve covers, etc. Leaking a little here and there.Distributor, plugs, all tune up items. Had a miss when I first cranked it after sitting.JBA headers and full Flowmaster exhaust. Slight exhaust leak until the engine gets warm.Door lock actuators.ACC carpet kit, front and rear.Belltech spindles/springs, shocks, flip kit in rear.Brake rotors, pads, ball joints, alignment.Boss wheels, 20x8 front, 20x10 rear. (Have around 100 miles on them)New Toyo tires, 245/45/20 front and 285/40/20 rear.Roll pan, welded in and smoothed.Windshield new, both quarter glasses removed for paint, resealed then put back in afterward.Cd player (Kenwood) and all four speakers. (Kicker brand).Heater core, thermostat, A/C freshly charged. Only known issues: May need another set of tires, these are brand new and not dry rotted, but from sitting they shake some. Alot of people tell me to either air them up or air them down and run them and they will smooth out perfectly. I don't know, so you decide for yourself. Has a few minor chips, touched up and hardly noticeable. Some cold mornings when first cranked, it has a slight miss, as soon as it gets warm it smooths out perfect. Doesn't do it all the time, haven't had time to get it checked and I'm no mechanic. I think it's a sensor or something going bad from sitting maybe. Gonna try to have it fixed by auction's end or will gladly pay the winning bidder the price to have it fixed. In closing, this Tahoe has had, what seems like, endless money and time spent making it the bad ass truck you see today. I try to go to great links when re-doing a vehicle like this to ensure quality, sometimes a little overboard I guess. I understand I will never get my full investment back out of it, but I will not give it away either. Paint and body work alone was over $5000. So please, no low ball offers, and no trades. Anyone with a feedback score of 10 or less, or a negative score, please contact me before bidding or it will be canceled. Sorry, this is a constant problem on Ebay it seems, so thanks for the understanding. Check my feedback, I am a straight shooter on my descriptions, and all the people I have dealt with have been happy with my items they have purchased. A non-refundable deposit of $500 through Paypal is due at the auction's end, full balance within 7 days unless arrangements before hand have been made. Feel free to contact me through Ebay, call, or text, with any questions you may have, thanks for your time. Derek (828) 772-6838.
